Mary poppins for SEN

Mel has been incredible with our two boys both with SEN needs aged 5&9. Having had a nanny previously for 5 years it was a big move for us all and one I wasn’t sure we would manage but she has found her role with us and made a truly special relationship with both boys over the last year. They ask ‘when is it a Mel day?’ now and look forward to seeing her, telling her about their week and events.

She has listened and adapted to their individual and different needs and managed to juggle both of their individual requirements, (one sensory seeking and the other often overwhelmed) during her time with them afterschool when they are often at their most heightened.

Both feel able to talk to her and share their emotions and worries and she helps them (and me) work through them.

She manages their meals, school work, medications and bath to ensure they are settled for the evening before I get home.

She has also been a huge support in applying for DLA and generally navigating the system and battles with school, noticing and reassuring me that as their mum I am right and suggesting things she has tried or thinks might help, but always in a respectful and helpful manner.

Always here with a new plan or adventure on offer or an activity she thinks they will enjoy, but equally happy to abandon the plan if their needs dictate otherwise and to act on the moment to manage their needs.

Somehow she manages to make the most hated tasks fun for them and gets them done without upset and anxiety. Mary poppins for SEN children

Best Nanny Ever!

Mel, We want to thank you for your utmost care, compassion and professionalism with working with my child. We never thought we would be in a position where we had to seek extra help! You completely ease our apprehension and anxieties, and you embraced us, and my son with so much kindness and grace!
My son had such a wonderful time working with you. Honestly seeing his face light up when seeing you always melted my heart! I am sure he misses you! He enjoyed when you brought over your own toys and even sang such lovely nursery songs to him.
I really hope we get to use you again! It was such a wonderful, amazing,

My daughters second mummy

Wow. What can I say. I was so anxious to hire a nanny, to trust someone with my 7 month old was huge. But from the very first interview I was blown away by Mel. She is a natural; so kind, so knowledgable and so full of love. I get sent constant photos and updates; along with all fresh food made for my baby weekly. Mel helped me so much with weaning and advice too! The way she loves my daughter is indescribable. I couldn’t recommend this nanny enough! She’s a huge part of our family.

Excellent

Mel has been looking after my daughter on Fridays and she has been fantastic from the moment she stepped through the door. Immediately engages with my daughter and keeps her attention for the whole day. Thoroughly enriching my child’s life with all sorts of activities and keeping her safe. She goes above and beyond what we expect every time. I don’t know how she does it!

Everything you could wish for in a Nanny

Mel started working with us when our girls were very young, having twins and being first time parents we needed some extra hands on and we were so fortunate that we found Mel. Mel brings so much to all our lives, she is incredibly caring, passionate and knowledgeable. She is engaging, encouraging and so thoughtful, our girls absolutely love every second they spend with Mel. Mel is highly skilled in all areas of childcare, as a parent there is nothing more you could wish for in a Nanny.

a shining example of excellent early years care

Mel has worked with us since March 2020, when our nursery closed due to the pandemic and as doctors required childcare help as needed to continue working – She returned to her other nannying family for the 2020 summer holidays and then began with us on a permanent basis from September 2020.

It is hard to write a professional reference for Mel because she means so much to us as a family –she is always prompt, friendly, kind and thoughtful but beyond that has become someone who we consider not only our nanny but a very important friend to both us and our boys.

In regards to her work, we are continually astounded by her planning and facilitation of engaging, age appropriate, child led activities which has sparked joy and wonder in both our children. Her knowledge of early years development is second to none and has not only led to huge direct benefit in our children, but indirectly has helped us adapt our own parenting approaches.

Mel nurtures every aspect of our children’s growth and development – she is always child led, with gently applied boundaries and clear but always respectful communication. She understands the importance of gentle approaches and emotional regulation in young children and is always a positive role model.

She has a natural affinity in connecting with children (and adults!) of all ages, and is one of the most compassionate, intelligent and kind people we know. We consider ourselves truly lucky to have her as part of our team!

SUPERNANNY

Mel has been with us for over 3months now. She cares for my 14month old son and 4 year old daughter (when not at preschool). She has gone above and beyond for both of my children. She is constantly planning new activities and encouraging them to grow and develop. Her knowledge of children and their development is second to none and I regularly ask her advice on aspects of both the children. She is extremely clean, tidy and helps me with my washing and cooking. She is a great cook often cooking dinners from scratch for both of the children using fresh ingredients. She is also a driver and regularly takes my 14month old to baby groups and classes. She sends regular updates throughout the day and is always willing to go the extra mile.

She is a joy to have in our family home and we consider her now to be part of our family. We are a very busy family but Mel takes it all in her stride and never gets flustered. She has a great personality and more importantly a good sense of humour which is so refreshing and needed!!

We whole heartedly recommend her to any family who want the very best childcare for their children - you won't be disappointed.
