About Me
Hi, my name is Bethany and I'm 20 years old currently in my last year at university studying counselling and psychotherapy. I have grown up being a young carer for my older brother who has learning difficulties and autism, which I feel has shaped me into a mature and responsible person. I am lucky in the sense that my course does allow me to have quite a lot of spare time within the week, so I would really love to help out anyone within my local community who may need an extra pair of hands. I am also happy to travel, since I have a full driving license.
My Experience
I have helped as a carer for my brother for the last ten years, being involved with his personal care including bathing and toileting, assisting with play and lesiure activities when he is out and being aware of safety both in and out of the home environment. I have also done work experience at a day nursery and spent a lot of time observing child behaviour as part of my degree.
My Qualifications
I have 9 GCSE's, one of which is a B in the subject of childcare. I also achieved D*D* in Health and Social Care at college, as well as an A in extended project qualification.
My Availability
I am available to help out any evenings, however I am happy to adapt or help out at other times during the day if needed. I may be also available to help out at weekends, however I work so this is slightly more difficult, but depends on the shifts I am given as they can vary.
