About Us

At Childerwood Nursery we believe in ‘Growing Learners for Life’ and our Early Years vision is to provide children with a high-quality education through a child-centred approach. We have passionate staff who celebrate the uniqueness of all children. We strive to educate using contextual learning which is linked to the children’s interests.

We deliver our learning through a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities, aiming to develop the children’s independence and make them intrinsically motivated to learn throughout their environment. We follow our ‘Tapestry Online Learning Journey curriculum.

At Childerwood Nursery we believe every child, family and member of staff matters. We strive to work in partnership, through a culture of listening, to enable everyone to achieve their true potential. We are building a successful learning community that celebrates diversity. We will be welcoming, friendly, respectful, thoughtful, and supportive in providing a safe place where we can grow and learn together.

At Childerwood Nursery we believe in a high-quality nursery team that acts in the best interests of children’s safety and welfare. To achieve this, we have a range of policies to support the recruitment, development, and retention of staff.

We offer both funded and non-funded sessional places for children in receipt of the Take 2 Scheme, the Universal and Extended offer. We also accept other schemes such as Tax-Free Childcare, which can be discussed with the Nursery Manager.

We do operate a waiting list for placements within the Nursery, to support parents who wish to pre-register and those looking to join or increase their current sessions.
