My Summary
About Me
Hello my name is Angela I live in North Shields with my husband and our two children aged 19 and 16. We have a dog who is very friendly called Hugo.
My husband and my Mum are registered with ofsted to work alongside myself as my assistants and can help on school drop offs and pick ups! They have both completed their first Aid and safeguarding which are renewed every 3 years.
I provide high quality childcare in a safe and stimulating environment. I have lots of toys and equipment suitable for all ages, I have access to a back garden which is accessible all year round, and is equipped with a play house, slides, water features a mud kitchen and lots more age appropriate toys. We also have an Allotment next to our house that myself and another local childminder use with the minded children to grow fruit and vegetables that we later use in our settings.
I have experience in looking after children from birth to 15 years, with some knowledge of special educational needs.
I own a 7 seater vehicle which I use for my business and can carry 6 children safely. I have business class insurance.
I visit local toddler groups, soft plays, library, parks and during the half term holidays organise trips to museums, farms, strawberry picking, along with other childminders we book a beach hut during the summer holidays which is a lovely way for the children to make new friends and experience what our local area has to offer.
I provide many learning opportunities through play and follow the Eyfs helping each child to develop and gain those all important skills that are needed in readiness for school.
I was last inspected October 2019 and received the grading Good.
My Experience
I qualified with a BTEC Diploma in childcare studies in 1997 and started working as a children's Nanny straightaway, I gained lots of experience during this time as well as some very strong friendships with the families I worked for. Which I am still in contact with today.
After having my first child in 2004 I decided to register as a childminder and have been doing it ever since.
I am a member of many childminding forums which helps my practice by keeping up to date with any changes to legislation complete online learning and webinars and to get ideas for activities and the best place to purchase equipment.
I also offer fully flexible nursery education to 3 and 4 year olds and 9 months to 2 year old funding.

Angela was childminder to our two children over a 6 year period and we couldn't recommend her highly enough! Angela's is a home from home and she treats every child she cares for with equal love and attention. When your children attend Angela's setting they become part of of the family. Every day is jam-packed with fun and educational activities, days out and she provides nutritious and healthy meals. We laughed that our son would eat anything at Angela's and was so fussy at home! Now he's started school he refuses to eat school dinners because they are not as good as Angela's dinners! We chose to send our son to Angela's instead of nursery and he just had his first parents evening at Reception. The teacher was so impressed with his phonics and writing skills, his social skills and manners, showing how well Angela prepared him for school. She coped amazingly well with the pandemic and the ever changing rules and regulations. She found inventive ways to keep the children entertained during lockdowns when they couldn't go out, allowing us key workers to continue working knowing our children were safe and happy. She communicates really well with parents and keeps you informed of any news, with updates through the day to share what they have been doing. Angela is incredible - she is flexible, caring, open and generous and pours her heart and soul into the job ❤️
My boy started coming here just a few months old when I went back to work I worried about leaving him with any one but this lady is fab every time my son enters the street or even say u going to Angela hes smiles and gets excited everytime I go to collect my son hes happy and other kids there look like there happy lovley family home with 100% care provided nothing better going to work a happy mammy along with little photos etc just makes my work days easier deffently highly recomend to any one thanks so much xx
We've been using Angela since December 2018 when I returned to work. We visited a number of childminders last summer while trying to secure childcare for my daughter and Angela stood out. It might have been the ducks in the kitchen! Part of a great experiment for the kids to learn about life cycles.
We don't have family in the area and Angela and hers have been so supportive and helpful, my daughter even calls Lorna (Angela's mum), Grandma. The whole family is involved with the children and it's lovely to see.
Angela supplies a regular newsletter, which describes upcoming activities and what the children are currently learning. There's also daily photos and videos, which certainly in the early days I really appreciated. There's regular family competitions and occasional evenings out for parents to meet each other.
My daughter suffers from egg and nut allergies and this has not been a problem at all. Angela supplies food for the children and she had kindly just adapted what she offers the children accordingly. She fully knows what to do in case of a reaction.
Most importantly my daughter really enjoys going and she's happy while there. She's learning lots (recently amazed us all on her knowledge of body parts and she's only 18 months!).
Angela is a great childminder and we feel so very lucky to have found her.
Angela has had both my children since September 2016. One was 1 and the other was just before and after school. I couldn't have asked for a better childminder to look after my children. The opportunities she provides for them is outstanding and more than what you would expect from a childminder. She always goes above and beyond and most of all my boys love going there. My youngest is now 3 nearly 4 and he starts reception in September. Angela has been a huge part of his development and when we had concerns around his speech she worked with him on his sounds and now he is doing just great. She always takes their interests in hand and enhances her resources to support them. I am expecting again and I really hope there is room for my little one but I know that no doubt by the time I come back Angela will be fully booked as she is the best!!!
Angela has looked after my little one B for a year now, since he was 1. I know he is incredibly happy there as he bounds through the door in the morning and isn't that bothered about coming home in the evening! When he's under the weather he'll get cuddles and when he's naughty he'll get the naughty step. Angela takes the kids out most days, beach, farm, national trust, and if they're in the house they're doing crafts or baking. She's been a massive factor in teaching B his colours, counting and so many other things. Angela's been fab at being flexible where possible with my shifts and always offers help in tricky situations, and I honestly don't know what we'd do without her.
