About Me
I am an Independent Autism Advisor supporting families and young people with a diagnosis of Autism or social communication needs.
My Experience
I have worked for a local authority for over thirty years and I now work independently as an Independent Autism Advisor offering parents support in the home or in early years settings or schools.
I can support families or settings to set up or implement a range of strategies including -
Visual timetables; TEACCH system; PECS; Attention Autism; Social Stories; comic Strip Conversations; Social skills; support to look at Sensory needs from a educationalist's perspective.
Visits can be a one off visit to look at a particular topic, or we can arrange a package of visits, for example to focus on setting up and implementing a visual support system. I also offer a telephone consultation service to for advice and support.
My Qualifications
I have a Degree in Autism, NVQ 4 in child care and education, NNEB.
I have a current DBS.
My Availability
I have worked for a local authority for over thirty-three years. From September 2019 I have been working independently as Autism Derby. I plan to be available for any school hours
