About Me

I offer the following services:
1. Tutoring and support with home schooling

2. Baby sitting with new born experience / mothers help

I am a qualified teacher with many years of experience and have also specialised in SEN. I hold a PGCE with QTS. I have extensive experience working and supporting children with Special needs. I offer tuition that covers primary curriculum for both special needs and mainstream school children. I also have a great understanding and knowledge of the EYFS.

My Experience

I have extensive knowledge/experience teaching the national curriculum for children in primary school and can differentiate activities and resources for children will all needs and abilities, strengthening their knowledge and bridging any gaps they have in their education. I offer my tutor services in my own home (extra charge for travel) and I have various resources to make learning interactive and fun with access to laptops, tablets and smart devices - all of which are monitored and have access controls. I have two young children of my own, and 9 nieces and nephews, giving me plenty of experience with children and understanding their social and emotional needs.

I am highly committed to ensuring full inclusion and I have also successfully completed my specialism in teaching children with special educational needs (SEN). I achieve inclusion through careful planning, analysing EHC plans where available and reviewing pupils previous work in their books to understand what level they are working at. I am able to successfully differentiate learning opportunities for all children, including EAL, to enjoy their learning and achieve their learning objectives.
I actively promote self-learning and independence through a pragmatic approach. I enjoy bringing lots of practical activities and lessons to my pupils to keep them focused, interested and enable them to nurture their own learning by bringing in as many real-life examples that they can relate to their surroundings. I enjoy keeping my lessons creative, allowing pupils to investigate, have an open conversation and learn through experimentation and experience. By identifying and understanding my pupils learning styles, I am able to support them by ensuring I am keeping them engaged and eager to learn and instilling confidence in my pupils to actively participate. My teaching style also helps integrate and link many areas of the curriculum together for cross-curricular learning.

I have 9 nieces and nephews and 2 of my own children. I have always taken an active hands on approach with all the younger children in my family and have had a lot of experience caring for new borns and toddlers. My own two children are currently 4 years and 6 years old and their cousins are all also ranging between the ages of 1 to 12 yrs old.

I am soon to be a registered childminder and will be integrating my teaching practice, philosophy and experience into delivering a child minding and educator service promoting all seven stages of your child's learning and development. Please feel free to enquire about this for future placements.
