About Me

Hi, my name is Allana and I live in yarm. I’m a fully insured and ofsted registered co-childminder at an outstanding provision with Sandy Gray. I was previously her assistant at her last inspection, where we were graded outstanding. I’ve since registered as a childminder in my own right and this helps us to try and cover each other in cases of childminder absences e.g. illness (though this is rare, we do feel it helps to provide an added safety net for parents)

I really love the job we do; we’ve put so much attention and energy into designing the provision for effective learning - and just general all round fun! We have 2 outdoor spaces and a large indoor space, that can be sectioned into 2, with just about every resource you can think of! We also like to pack up our learning and take resources with us for full days out. We feel days out are crucial for your child’s cultural capital and general wellbeing.

I have looked after numerous children in the EYFS ages of 0-5, and have experience with older children too who tend to come back to us for care in the holidays. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know the individual personalities of all the children, and we share great moments together. We take lots of pictures throughout the day and share these with the parents daily - so you can get to see the fun too!

I find it easy to communicate with children on their level, and provide a warm environment for them to feel safe and cared for. They really do become our little friends and we love them all.

I am fully paediatric first aid updated and have safeguarding certificates. Along with continuous CPD training, some of which are verified on here. I have experience with SEND. I also have experience with allergies and anaphylaxis. I have a full clean driving licence, I ensure my car is kept in good working condition as well as having business car insurance.

I also have a young son of my own, who does sometimes join us throughout the day. And because of him, I do fully understand and appreciate how difficult it can be to trust someone to care for your child. I sympathise greatly with the anxiety it can cause for new mums (and just mums in general), and that’s why we treat this childcare journey as a two way trust process. We keep try to keep communication as open as we can so that you can ask as many questions as you need to feel reassured and understand the things we do day to day as your trust in us grows.
