About Me
Hello, my name is Svetlana Vaitkeviciene. I am an OFSTED registered childminder (Sunshine Childcare). I've been graded 'GOOD' by OFSTED in June 2022. I live in Illogan, Redruth. I relocated to Cornwall with my family from Ross on Wye, Herefordshire in August 2021. I have lived in Ross on Wye for 10 years. I am married and I have 4 children, 3 sons born in 2002, 2012 and 2017 and one daughter born in 2014. We have a beautiful golden retriever called Luna and she is very friendly. We are a vegan family. Packed lunches are provided by parents. Snacks are included in my hourly rate. We have a lot of toys and fun garden with trampoline, sandpit, mud kitchen and more. My interests are: spending time with my family, cycling, the outdoors, travelling and exercising. I speak in three languages: English, Lithuanian and Russian.
I offer a safe and secure childcare at all times and close personal attention to each child. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and provide stimulating environment for little ones to play and learn whilst having fun. I love looking after children. Looking after children is something that I really enjoy as I love to see and learn about how they develop and grow.
Please contact me for more information. I offer 2 settling in sessions for free up to 2 hours each once the contracts have been signed. You are very welcome to come and have a look around.
I have up to date DBS check, First aid, Food hygiene, Safeguarding and Prevent training.
I offer funded places for 2,3 and 4 year old.

Lana is simply amazing! She has taken care of my little boy for 3 full days a week since he was 10 months old (now nearly 2), I am so happy I found her! Lana and her family treat my child like he’s part of their family, with her own children being equally as nurturing and loving as Lana is. He settled in straight away with no tricky transitions or wobbles at all.
I would recommend Lana to anyone who is looking for a home from home experience for their child. Lana offers experiences that a nursery just simply couldn’t, be it trips to the library, the beach, the woods, parks, playgroups and those rainy days inside; I know that my child is busy playing and exploring developmentally appropriate activities that showcase and evidence progress markers that you can find in the Development Matters document for Early Years settings.
I receive daily photographs and updates every day and I think Lana really goes above and beyond to provide a memorable Early Years experience for all the children in her care. I could not be happier leaving my child with anyone else.

Lana provides a great quality care to my young boy. He comes home with a smile on his face after each session. There are lots of creative and thoughtful activities that Lana has set up for him to take part in. Her setting provides lots of indoor and outdoor resources to learn and play, helping to engage his practical skills and encourage imaginative play. Lana has taken care to understand how to help my boy develop in certain areas and overall in a very positive way. Would definitely recommend!

To have someone care and love your child like Lana does is truly a blessing. We are so grateful to her and her family! Our little boy has a second family with her and her family, and he absolutely adores Lana and her family. It really is a home away from home for him. She always has his best interests at heart and goes above and beyond to care and support him. Lana is so thoughtful and kind, and I credit her with how well he’s developing as she’s supports him with his learning. Communication is always amazing and we get regular updates with photos of their adventures together. Thank you so much Lana!

Svetlana was absolutely amazing. A modern day Mary Poppins. She looked after our 3 young children in a small holiday house with no garden on a hot day for 7 hours and didn’t need to use the TV at all. They loved her and her activities kept them fully occupied all day.

Lana is an amazing childminder with lots of experience. We feel very safe leaving our baby with her and know she's getting lots of support, care and enriching experiences. Lana has been very flexible with our schedules, especially when we had started new jobs and were anxious about finding somewhere for our baby to be looked after for the first time. She even gave us a little gift on the first day we left our baby with her which while it was a small thing for her to do, it meant a lot to us!

Lana has been childminding my nearly 2 year old for a couple of months. He is happy with her and always comes home clean, tired and full of exciting things to tell me about his day.
Lana is calm and patient and offers many activities to engage children in learning and developing. She makes nutritious food and sticks to our routines as best as she is able to. Oscar has come home with mothers day cards, cards for his grandpa, Easter treats etc. They have kindness days and spend lots of time outside in the fresh air, at the park or on the beach.
Lana is flexible and kind. She puts in thought and effort into looking after children as individuals and ensures mum and dad are happy and comfortable with the care she is providing. We are sent pictures of Oscar's day, how he got on and lies and dislikes. Lana has good policies in place and I trust that Oscar is safe with her. I highly recommend her.

Svetlana is an amazing childminder! My boy settled in quick and so well at her setting. He is very happy there and I know he's going to be looked after very well.I can leave him with calm heart every time. She's very attentive and caring person. Nothing is too much for her and she's very flexible and considerate to your needs. Couldn't ask for a better person to look after my son !

My boy started in Feb with few hard sessions but then he got used and now he loves going. Svetlana care incredibly for him. Very careful and kind. She is planning a large variety of activities for him, and keep me up to date throughout with what he was doing using a lovely and very useful app. She has a lovely outside space too for children to use. Svetlana has been so thoughtful in acknowledging special days like holidays and special days for us. Even the snacks she is providing is always different. My boy loves her and all her fantastic family.
She is The best for my boy.

My daughter has been with Svetlana since January. When I drop her off she is so excited to see Svetlana and when she comes home she always has a different art or craft project they've been doing that day. I receive regular photos and videos throughout the day and W always looks so happy. Svetlana always keeps me updated with how W is doing and has been very open and supportive during the lockdown. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a care setting.
