About Me

We are a family of 4: Mum, Dad, Son (7) and Daughter (4).

Our son is an intelligent and bubbly boy. Very friendly and very excitable. He loves washing machines, technology and finding out how things work. He's really keen on Minecraft and Roblox. He loves the outdoors too.

He has autism (with a PDA profile) and ADHD. We've been on a journey, learning about his brain and how it works. He is very bright. He currently does not attend school but we are trying to find a specialist place for him. We are waiting to hear from SupportEd to see if they can do some things with him in the meantime.

His demand avoidant aspects mean that whoever looks after him must have an understanding of PDA. The traditional strategies used for autism do not work with him and he really needs someone who understands that him in a patient and kind way.

My daughter is bright as a button, fiercely independent. She knows what she wants and how she wants to do it. She loves arts and crafts, play doh, music, dancing and the outdoors. Also loves a bit of Minecraft and Roblox.

One of our biggest struggles at the moment is school drop off and pick up for my daughter. My son currently refuses to leave the house so we desperately need some help. I cannot leave him alone but I need to get her to school so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I have looked at After School Clubs but she is a home girl. I would rather not use them but will do when needed.

For babysitting, Mum and Dad need to have some time to be human. We don't often get to go out. We last went out on Mothers Day but prior to that I don't even know the last time we went out. We have never had a night away from the kids. Family support is limited so we can't have a regular day out. Here's hoping we can soon!
