Positive, caring person. I am currently studying to be a Speech and Language Therapist. I have spent the past 5 years of my life caring for children and adults with ASD, ADHD, Global Development Disorder, Down Syndrome and other developmental disorders. I have 5 siblings and three adorable nieces who could not be cuter. I am 24 and love adventure. I am a pro at sensory and messy play...slime, oobleck, ice painting..I could go on. I spent 5 years in U.S and love to travel and experience new cultures and countries. Not to worry though I am here in London know for atleast the next 4 years.
My Experience
Grew up helping care for my younger brother with Down Syndrome. My most recent job at Solas in Belfast I worked providing specialized services for children with ASD and other additional needs such as Global Development Disorder and ADHD. I learnt how to communicate with each child often using basic Makaton, Pecs, and other visuals. Many of the children experienced regular meltdowns and challenging behaviors. Alone or with the team of staff I was able to successfully manage these behaviors calmly and safely. I also was able to notice certain triggers and events that could be avoided to prevent meltdowns and sensory overload. Teamwork was key to my job. We met often to discuss certain behavior plans or improvement. This helped provide consistency in each child’s care and development. Safeguarding training was provided and we had monthly supervisions to express concerns and ideas. Creativity and initiative were welcomed, and I successfully enjoyed arranging and carrying out different sensory, and other activities such as making slime, and other such messy play.

Full High School Diploma
OCN NI Level Two Award in Managing Challenging Behavior in Children and Young People
Certificate of Higher Education. Introduction to Health Sciences.
Currently studying to be Speech and Language Therapist
My Availability
I am currently looking for part time flexible hours alongside my studies. I am not keen on doing overnights however occasionally would not mind.
