About Me
Hi! I`m Lauren, a qualified English teacher currently available for tuition and babysitting.
Before completing my UK teacher training, I spent three years teaching English as a second language in Tokyo, Japan (2016-2019).
In the past, I`ve worked as a private English tutor to primary aged children in the Manchester/Sheffield areas, and I also planned and lead sessions in both primary and secondary schools with the Tutor Trust for two years.
I am happy to tutor students from KS2 - KS4, and am currently available to provide sessions in person in your home, or online via zoom. Tutoring is something that`s very important to me, as I love to help others learn and feel that a little extra help can sometimes be the difference between your child achieving their potential or not!
As a babysitter, I believe the most important thing is making sure children are safe, comfortable and happy at all times. My 10 years of experience in education means I'm used to being flexible, friendly and creative. I'm happy to adapt to any existing routines you have for your children, and I'll always make sure they have a great time!

* 5 years experience teaching secondary eges students (both as an English teacher and supply teacher)
* 1 year as a private English tutor (primary and secondary)
* Occasional babysitting whilst working as a tutor
* 3 years teaching English as a foreign language in Tokyo, Japan
* 4 years tutoring students at School of Leadership, Afghanistan (via skype)
* 2 years as an unqualified tutor whilst studying for my English degree (English for primary and secondary students)
My Qualifications
I qualified as a secondary English teacher in July 2022 (Sheffield SCITT/University of Hull), and graduated from The University of Manchester in 2016 with a 1st in English Literature and Creative Writing. Whilst teaching English in Japan, I gained a 120 hour premium TEFL qualification. I also have A* A Levels in English Lit/Lang, Religious Studies, and Sociology.
