About Me
Hello,
My name is Steph and I am now a mum of 2 (age 4 and 1), my partner and I have been together for over 12 years and we live in the Leigh area.
I have worked in the childcare sector since 2007, and nannied exclusively from 2008-2015 when my daughter was born, since then I have nannied alongside parenting and supporting expectant families prepare for birth/parenthood at Do It Like A Mother.
I’ve had a wealth of experience with children from newborn up to school age, with the large majority of my experience being with preschool aged children. I had some experience with newborns as a nanny, but of course the biggest learning curve has been having my own and it had changed my outlook on caring for and educating children significantly.
A change in our family circumstances means I am looking at returning to nannying - either part or full time depending on the role. My ideal would be for my 1year old to come with me as my 4year old did when she was small.
I am a lover of food, craft, montessori, reading, crochet and the outdoors - forest school is mine and my kids fave place to hang out!
My Experience
I have worked in nurseries, as a home Carer for children with cerebral palsy, then as a nanny working in families homes throughout Essex and London.
I have most recently been focused on supporting families as they prepare for birth through group and private Hypnobirthing courses, with one day a week nannying, as well as volunteering at a support group once a week (we offer free support, information and solidarity for anything pregnancy / parenting related such as slings, cloth nappies, breast & bottle feeding, sleep etc).
I love supporting families in a more personal role which is why I enjoy nannying so much, the relationship with the parents and children is so important to us all.
My Qualifications
Btec Level 3 in Early Years
Study days including toilet training, healthy eating, breastfeeding support and more.
My Ofsted, First Aid and DBS all need refreshing which I am more than happy to do.
