My Summary
About Me
I am a very positive and easy going person who has a passion for caring for the needs of all children and ensuring all their development and personal needs are met in a fun and loving way. Im 32 and live with my Husband and baby in our home in Northbourne. Im a very active person and feel that fresh air and outdoor play is amazing for children's development. I play for a local ladies football team, I enjoy socialising with family and friends and chilling at home with my family.
I’ve worked within the early year sector for over 17 years in varying roles. I started volunteering and then went on to do my qualifications starting at level 3 and most recently gained the Early Years Teacher Status with PGCE in 2020. In my previous roles I have been assistant manager, deputy manager, 2yr olds room lead and baby room lead amongst working alongside the pre schoolers and supporting children with additional needs. I have had various nannying and babysitting experience working in the children’s home as well as my own home. In my most recent experience I have worked in a forest school leading the under twos and working alongside 2-4yrs. I love looking after and supporting children of all ages and watching them develop and learn through stimulating play. I enjoy the outdoors and going for walks especially along the beach and in the forest.
I am a very positive and outgoing person who cares for all the people around me making sure I can adapt to the needs of whoever I am supporting children or adults.
My nannying style:
As a nanny I like to have the ability to take the children out and about to enable them to see the world around them and explore their environment. Nature plays a big part in a young child’s life and being able to go for forest walks, beach outings and explore new places allows the children to develop and flourish and learn new things through play, trial and error and curiosity. Taking the children to groups or meeting up with other children also allows the children to develop their social skills and learning alongside others.
As well as exploring the world outdoors there are plenty of fun filled activities that can be used indoors to stimulate young minds through play.
I am flexible to fit around your family and your individual needs. For example I am happy to cook nutritious meals, shop for the meals/snacks for the children, help out with the children’s laundry and any general cleaning tasks.
This can be discussed further to suit your family needs.
My Experience
I started volunteering in a nursery when I was 14 after school and in the school holidays. From there I completed my qualifications stage by stage gaining experience in holidays clubs, after school clubs, baby unit and nursery. Throughout the years I have worked in different nurseries and taken on different roles such as afterschool club leader, baby room leader, duty mananger and deputy manager. I have also worked in a school 1-1 supporting a child with behavioural needs. During my time within nurseries I have supported children with different SEND/speech and language/EAL needs adapting activities/language depending on their abilities. I also have experience working in a forest school which is just fantastic!
