My Summary

My Experience

I have been working and looking after children of all ages for 3 years now. I currently take care of a 10 month old baby most weekends of each month. I tend to the baby's needs by changing his nappy, assisting him with bottle feeding and regular feeding and if the baby is upset, I comfort him by singing, cuddle him or by playing some nursery rhythms. On request by the baby's mother, I put him to sleep by rocking him, rubbing the baby's tummy in a circular motion or gently brushing my index finger down the bridge of the baby's nose as this feeling automatically makes the baby close his eye and drift off to sleep. whilst the baby is sleeping, I do the household chores such as washing up, hoovering and the laundry. previously, I babysat two children age between 3 and 4 years old during the school holiday period for around 5 hours for 3 days a week. I reassured the parents that the children ate their lunch and snack. I would also do activities, which included decorating biscuits, making beaded bracelets/ necklaces and playing games in the garden such as Carnival games, Football or playing with the Frisbee. I volunteer at a play scheme, where I work with children age 5 to 14 and I do this everyday after college. I help the children with their homework, creative work such as paper mache, masking tape painting and clay modelling, I guide the children to the near by shops to buy food as requested by their parents. I also help prepare and serve snacks and drinks such as cheese toasties,fruit, smoothies and yogurt.

My Qualifications

I have passed GCSEs.
I have a Level 2 qualification in Childcare.
I am currently studying Childcare Level 3.
