About Me
My name is Jo Winspear and I am a fully-qualified Childminder and Nursery Nurse with my N.N.E.B. certification. I am OFSTED registered and a member of the National Childminding Association. I am a member of Redcar and Cleveland, Quality Assured, Children Come First network, and I am one of the first 13 childminders in a new networ called Aiming High for Disabled Children. I have an up to date Paediatric first aid certificate, and CRB check. I’m married with two adult daughters, and have lived in the local area since childhood. My husband, both my daughters and mother are registered as my assistants with Ofsted and are CRB/ DBS checked and both my daughters have their Paediatric first aid certificates and level 2 and 3 childcare qualifications.
I have a fully accessible house with ramp to the front door and access to all areas with a down stairs toilet and an upstairs wet room.
I live next door to the local park, which we love to visit.
We have a non-smoking household.
I hold a full driving licence with business cover on my 7 seater car, and both my daughters have business cover on their cars.
I have a purpose built conservatory added for the children to play in, I have 3 friendly cats, a tropical fish tank and a tortoise named Tia, I have a full range of activities on offer including: A large lawned and fenced in garden with outdoor play equipment including a large climbing frame, Trips out to feed the ducks, down to the beach, to farms etc. Walks, to the woods, to the park, to the shops. I have hatched out chicks and ducklings, I meet up with other childminders and their children. I also have on offer baking, play dough, computing, a Wii, wii fit, art and craft, TV and video/DVDs, sand, gardening, dressing up, books, toys, games, ball pool and plenty more!
My Experience
I have worked as a childminder since September 2006 and before that, in primary schools (as a Nursery Nurse then a level 4 Teaching Assistant) since 1988, with children of ages between three and eleven years. This includes children with special needs including ADHD and Asbergers. I have over thirty years experience of working with children. I have also worked as a special constable for Cleveland Constabulary prior to having my daughters.
My Qualifications
I am a fully-qualified Childminder and Nursery Nurse with my N.N.E.B. certification. I have an up to date Paediatric first aid certificate, I have taken part and passed courses in EYFS training, Managing children's behaviour and Awareness of child abuse and neglect. I am registered as a food business and I am a member of the Early Reading connects. I have passed my NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development and my Advanced Apprenticeship in Childcare, Learning and Development and completed several courses regarding the new network, Aiming High for Disabled Children. I am working under the EYFS, with individual planning and observations for each Child under 5 and attend training on a regular basis to keep up to date with all new practices.I have recently had my Ofsted inspection and I was awarded a Good with Outstanding areas. I am now registered to take children on the government scheme of free places from the ages of 9 month old up to 4 year olds.
My Availability
7.45am– 5.30pm Monday to Friday
There is some degree of flexibility, which would need to be arranged with parent before hand to help cover shifts etc, (depending on hours/time stated on contract).
I offer care after school, before school, all year, full time, holiday cover, school holidays and emergency.
I offer school drop offs and pickups from Highcliffe Primary School in Guisborough, other schools would be considered
