My Summary
About Me
I am a confident, well-organised, honest and responsible person. My attendance and punctuality is consistently excellent. I can be trusted when unsupervised and when needed can use my initiative to get on with the task at hand. I maintain a good attitude to work and approach all challenges with determination. My problem solving rather than problem stating attitude means that I quickly build strong lasting relationships with the people I work with. Since becoming a nanny I have become OFSTED registered and also have nanny insurance. Whilst working in the local areas I have gained extensive knowledge of the activities going on for children of all ages and have also made lots of nanny friends too.
I am very energetic and creative and I love my job as a nanny. I love doing activities outside as well as inside, and have a great knowledge and experience with different role play, art activities, story time activities etc.
I am a bubbly, fun-loving person; who firmly believes there is no better way to learn that through exploring the World around us and trying new things out.
There is nothing more magical than seeing the World through a child's eyes, when life is still one big adventure ready to be explored.
In my free-time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and keeping fit through running and swimming
My Experience
Work Experience
March 2016- Present
Sole charge of 3 children- aged 9 years and twins aged 7. I have been with my current family for 5 and half years now, the children were 3 years and 14 months twins when I started, they are now 9 1/2 years and the twins are 7 years old . I have become a very big and important member of the family , When I started this job, I worked 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, looking after all three children sole charge, I have a very strong and beautiful Relationship with all three children. I was Responsible for doing all the normal nanny duties,
Feeding the children healthy home cooked meals, changing bedding, and planning daily outings and fun Activities and art and crafts. I love planning days out, going to playgroups, picnics, local parks, playing tennis and football, trips to the beach or boxhill climbing trees, or putting on our wellies and jumping in muddy puddles!
I love keeping the children busy and being outside in the fresh air is important to me aswel, aswel as time at the family home reading stories, puzzles, drawing and painting, roleplay and threading etc, you name it, I have planned it! I really do give my everything to every job I have had!
Over the last few years I have Reduce my hours to 30 hours, when all three children started school part time and I currently now do 20 Hours over the 5 day week, as all three children are at full Time school.
When the Pandemic began I went back to full time hours, whilst home schooling all 3 children from
8.45am to 6.15pm everyday, whilst the children’s parents were at work still full time!
But since the world is starting to get back to normal (ish) my current family parents now are working from home full time and part time, so I’m no longer needed as they can do the school Pick ups etc as they no longer need to travel to town! So my time has come to give my attention and experience to another family to create and gain another strong bond with their children and the parents.
January 2013 - March 2016
Sole charge of 2 children - aged 6 years, 4 years
I worked with this family for 4 years, I’ve cared for the children since they were 6 months and 2 years - now 4 1/2 and 6 1/2. I have become part of the family working full time from 6:45 am to 6:45 pm daily. I have a very strong relationship with both children and the parents. My role started with looking after both full time, with all the normal duties included - from weaning the little one, creating a weekly menu and cooking healthy nutritious meals, washing and other household duties. I am a very active nanny, taking the children to different planned and spontaneous activities - such as play groups to nice walks in the woods on ‘bear hunts’ and looking for different nature, investigating with magnifying glasses. As the children have got older and started school I have organized other after school classes - swimming lessons and other groups. I have also helped them to get glowing reports with my guidance, support and encouragement - with their spelling, reading and other curricular activities. I’ve also gone above and beyond the expectations of my job role by staying over for 4 nights whilst their parents had been on holiday together. The youngest is now starting full time school in January 2016
November 2012 – December 2013
Took a month of leave to travel New Zealand as next role start date planned for January.
April 2010 – October 2012
Sole charge of 4 year old with Autism
I care for this little boy from 8 to 6 Monday to Friday, carrying out all nursery duties, cleaning the play room as well as attending doctors appointments, speech and language classes for his development progress, drop offs and picks ups from school and other house hold duties. I have also had to prepare healthy meals to meet his individual needs as he struggled with some textures of foods (crunchy or hard), however his eating habits are now very good after following a healthy diet plan. I have also baby-sat for him on week days and weekends as required out of my normal working hours.
September 2009 – April 2010
Sole care for 3 children – 3 years, 18 months and 3 months
Working for a family and looking after 3 children, Monday to Friday 8 to 6 but I also carried out babysitting when required. I built a very strong and personal working relationship with the family. I planned a wide variety of different activities within and outside of the family home. I carried out all the children’s daily duties, including cooking for a healthy balance diet. I went above and beyond the family expectations of my job role when I stayed at the family home for a week after the arrival of their third child. I implemented a daily handover book whilst the family were busy at the hospital, so they know everything we were doing whilst they were away.
March 2009 – September 2009
Management cover
Teddies Epsom
I was working closely alongside my Regional Manger to help support the nursery in the absence of a manager. We were working towards raising standards at the nursery site, this entails me visiting each unit at least once a day and ensuring I have a clear understanding of their financial affairs. I have been specifically chosen for this role as I am committed to raising the standards as well as the profitability of the site. At present it is not my long term goal to become a manager so I have taken this role on until a suitable permanent manager is sourced and fully inducted. I am currently re designing the garden area of the nursery and have submitted re structural ideas to my regional manager to enhance the nursery operation and revenue capacity.
April 2008 – March 2009
Deputy Manager
Teddies Nurseries Epsom
I was promoted to Deputy Manager following successful completion of interviews and assessment days. I have in partnership with the manager radically changed the reputation of the Nursery increasing the population. I have worked hard to build a good team and to create a home from home environment for the children in my care. I have implemented many changes and have spent a large amount of time focussing on special dietary requirements implementing several systems to better safeguard both the children and staff at the nursery. I successfully planned and executed last years graduation for our Learning centre children who have moved on to school this was in conjunction with the grand opening of our re designed outdoor learning environment. The occasion attracted a lot of attention in the local community and the local Mayor attended, we had a large article covering the event in the company newspaper ‘BUPA Today’.
I worked closely with my Manager and the staff within my nursery team to begin to look at the changes we made to ensure a smooth and successful transition into the new EYFS framework that came into effect from 2008.
October 2006 – April 2008
Head of Unit Baby Care
Teddies Nurseries Epsom
I was promoted to Head of Unit in the Baby care room. The room had the capacity to hold 20 babies per day but had a maximum of 6 per day after 4months of quality improvement the unit was full on 3 out of the 5 days. I have a sound working knowledge of budgets and have been able to make substantial cost cuts to increase the bottom line profit of the nursery. I have also had experience of dealing with staff disciplinary and I work closely with the Surrey early years team to provide a good level of care and education to the children in the nursery.
May 2006 – October 2006
Nursery Nurse
Teddies Nurseries Epsom
I started my career at the nursery as Bank staff but was quickly asked to become part of the permanent team. I covered all aspects of my job role and would often go above and beyond taking planning home and coming into work at the weekends to put up displays as I felt strongly that my time during nursery hours should be spent interacting with the children.
