My Summary
Providing Forest School Learning Within Our Setting
About Me
Hello, my name is Stacey, I work with my husband Ikram and we live in the Burley/ Kirkstall area of Leeds with our 3 children Ava, Jakob and Oliver aged 6, 9 and 14. We set up our childcare business; Little Trees Childcare in August 2020 and it has gone from strength to strength. We have worked really hard to gain the adequate training and qualifications needed as well as securing our home and providing lots of opportunities/ resources for children to grow and learn in a fun, secure and loving environment. We have a lovely detached house which is quite open and spacious downstairs to allow for free flow of play and a good sized garden that has been designed with children in mind.
We find children fascinating and as parent's and caregiver's we understand the importance of our roles in all aspects, to help build their confidence, communication and independence, to provide a loving and secure home from home setting and to be great role models. We are keen advocates of child led learning, heuristic play and using natural resources to enhance learning as well as following the EYFS guidelines. As a family we are big fans of the great outdoors and love to venture out, camping, climbing, being active and learning through exploring our surroundings and this shows within our setting. Ikram has just completed his Level 3 Forest school leadership course and I am currently studying the level 3 early years educator course in order for us to implement more knowledge into our setting.
We are both very energetic people who understand the importance of being active, eating healthily and promoting positive well-being, we do children's/ baby yoga, lots of outdoor activities, movement using music and play and promote the importance of making good choices around food. We also grow some of our own food and am very adaptable to any dietary requirements etc. I am a very organised person, through employment and as a busy mum I have had to learn to prioritise and create structure and routine within our home which I naturally reflect in my setting.
We do offer wrap around from our youngest children's school (Kirkstall Valley Primary) and we currently have children aged 14 months to 11 years here. We love that we have children of all ages as the older children learn to be great role models to the younger children and our younger children learn so much from their peers. We offer a family environment where all our children feel secure, happy and safe and really like they are at home. We all sit together during meal times, we encourage children to be independent (age appropriate) and to be inclusive as being a diverse, inclusive setting is something we are very passionate about.
As mentioned I work alongside my husband, he is my assistant and previously worked as a sports teacher and behavioural support leader, he is very patient, active and caring and his skills really benefit our day to day planning of activities, after school and holiday clubs. I on the other hand am a very creative person, always seeking new ideas to develop exploration and the understanding of the world, helping to build those little imaginations and achieve those milestones so I believe our combined skills will ensure that our setting will meet all of your child's needs. We have just had our first OFSTED inspection since opening and were graded GOOD.
We have an assistant, Laura who currently works 3-4 days a week with us now and is proving to be a huge asset to our business.
Our ethos is simple....... Life is an adventure and we cannot wait to be a part of yours.
My Experience
I worked for Leeds Mencap for 6 years and left them in October 2019, there I supported all age ranges with complex needs as well as doing an administration role and completing lots of different training courses, I feel that all these factors benefit me in running our business.
I am OFSTED registered, have completed my childminding training, am paediatric first aid trained (as are all staff at little trees) and have also done several other courses to develop my skill set, in order to benefit my setting; such as caring for children and young people, learning through play, HENRI, food hygiene and a child behavioural course, SEN trained and have a Level 3 in early years.
I am very keen to ensure I am as skilled as I can be when delivering care and learning objectives (EYFS) within my setting and I always seek to better my own knowledge and understanding of this. I actively do courses/ research, staying in line with government guidelines and keeping up with any current changes within safeguarding, child development and the childcare sector. I am currently working towards getting my level 3 early educator accreditation and also registered with childcare.co.uk where myself and assistants have access to more online courses.
I only have 4 years of childminding experience behind me, yet I have been a mummy for 14 years now and after raising three incredible little humans I would say I haven't done too badly. Through being a parent I have found that some things just come very naturally to me, risk assessing, teaching safety where needed, constantly counting children when out and about and most importantly knowing that they are the most precious things to us so doing anything I can to ensure that they are always safe, happy and loved whilst supporting them to be their unique selves.
My Qualifications
I have completed several courses listed above and intend to do more
I have a BTEC ND in graphic design and photography
I have a BA Honors in advertising with design and business management
Level 3 early years educator

Our son has been going to Little Trees for the last 10months, from the age of 1year. At this young age our main priority was for him to have a childcare setting where he could get to know people well, form strong attachments and feel lots of love and encouragement. We also chose little trees so that he would be around children of all ages and get to spend lots of time outdoors. At our first meeting something startled our son and Stacey's reaction was immediately to give him a big cuddle.. so we knew we were in the right place!
Stacey and Ikram were brilliant from day 1.. they planned a gradual settling in period which really helped him (and us!) build our confidence. They take the kids out every day to all sorts of varied and interesting places indoors and outdoors - to local playgroups, the farm, the park, even further afield on trips to places like Eureka! He now talks constantly about his friends at little trees and sometimes forgets to say goodbye at drop off as he's so happy to be there! Laura joined little trees as an assistant shortly after we started there and is also really kind and patient.
We feel so lucky to be able to leave our son with little trees in the knowledge that he is safe and being cared for well and having lots of adventures. His walking and speech and pretend play is developing really well thanks to all the encouragement and opportunities he gets through little trees.
We cannot recommend Little Trees highly enough.

I’d highly recommend Little Trees. Stacey and Ikram provide a fantastic childcare for our daughter who has been going there for 2 years now.
We love how many adventures they go on, seeing different museums, parks, zoos etc. and going to local play groups.
Our daughter is hearing impaired and Stacey and Ikram work with our Teacher of the deaf to provide fantastic support for her. They also have learnt some sign language to communicate with her and to support her learning and development and next steps.
We love the photos they share and updates of what they’ve done each day (including how they’ve eaten) and they have great communication at hand overs.
Ikram and Stacey go above and beyond and truly make our daughter feel like she’s at a home from home. We could not be happier and would highly recommend.

We joined Little Trees just over a year ago, and I can honestly say it's
been life changing for our family!
We had previously been with a nursery before, but we wanted a more personal
family feel, and that's exactly what we found with Stacey and Ikram! In the
year that we have been with them, my daughter has grown so much in
confidence, and she really feels she has a little extended family!
Stacey and Ikram have always gone above and beyond to provide a nurturing,
educational and fun environment for the children, and the care they take to
plan activities, outings and adventures for the children is second to none.
The setting itself is clean, safe and well thought out, with excellent
meals and resources provided. They also take care to include educational
themes through all activities.
On a more personal note, Stacey and Ikram have also been integral to
supporting our daughter's speech and development needs, and we are amazed
at the change in our daughter's speech and confidence since she has been
there, and it really shows their expertise as educators as well as care
givers.
It really is hard to sum up what a wonderful place Little Trees is for any
child but, suffice to say, we were due to leave Little Trees at the end of
last year but have extended for another year as we know this is the best
place for her!
Thank you Stacey & Ikram, we would be lost without you!

I cannot thank Stacey and Ik enough for how wonderful they have been with my little girl, Orla. Orla is 21 months old and has been attending Little Trees since she was 18 months old, and absolutely loves it there! She is always so happy to go to Stacey on a morning, and is happy as you like when we come to pick her up. We know she always has amazing fun when she's with Stacey and Ik, whether it is exploring their garden, getting stuck in to painting, or out on a trip! Stacey and Ik have really taken the time to get to know us and our little one, and are always willing to chat about Orla's development, as well as her quirks and her likes and dislikes. I know for sure that Orla is in good hands, and all the children that come to Little Trees seem so happy to be there, they will happily greet us when we arrive and wave us off when we're going home. There's never a sad face!
I know Orla is always being fed good home-made food and is looked after as if she were one of their own, honestly I am so pleased we found Little Trees, I hope Orla can continue to go here for many years to come.

My little girl (4 years old) stayed at Little Trees for several days during the mid-term break. She had a blast! Stacey did prepare so many fun activities, Halloween park hunt even a party for the kids. I'm glad thanks to her, my girl was able to make awesome memories during this weird 2020 year. Stacey did brought back a bit of Halloween magic and I'm very grateful. She's also very professional, caring with the kids, and communication with parents is great. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for trustable childcare in Leeds. You won't be disappointed!
