About Me
Hi, thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I am a mother of 3 children 22, 19 & 14 and happily married for the past 23 years. After staying at home with my youngest I realised that being at home with my children and others, children can benefit from care within a welcoming home environment. I have been registered for 10 years with Ofsted and am a member of Pacey (formarly known as NCMA).
My ultimate aim is to be able to provide a stimulating environment for all children I care for to learn, grow/develop and most of all have FUN. Our family household is always very busy with lots to do.
As parents your child’s needs and wishes are all different therefore being paramount, as a good childminder I am able to be more flexible and will endeavour to meet all your requests.
I am a member of a local childminding network and also run a childminding group within local children's centre on Monday mornings. I am able to provide emergency back up care in the event of any situation where continunity of care is required. I have also shared cared for a child with another childminder which suited specfic parents requirements.

My Experience
I am registered with Ofsted and can care for 6 children under the age of 8, which no more than 3 may be under 5 and no more than 1 child can be under 12 months.
I have full public liability insurance through (Pacey) and have fully comprehensive car insurance.
Returning to work after my third child within the purchasing environment I knew then that I needed a career change, after having missed out on the development of my older children. From this need to see our youngest daughter grow this making me realise that I wanted look after my own children as well as others.
This is why I have chosen childminding as a profession.
This will enable me to develop and utilise my skills and understanding children development. I am continuing my learning to further my knowledge by regularly attending additional Early Years training courses to gain and improve my knowledge of children's learning & development updating changes through network meeting, courses which are readily available to maintain my level of professionalism.
My Qualifications
I have completed my NVQ level 3 in Early years Care and Education June 2006. I achieved NCMA Quality First level 3 July 2005, was re accredited in July 2008 due to changes with this accreditation I commenced our local quality assurance program HQS and completed this in February 2014.
Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children certificates is updated every 3 years. All certificates are readily available to view upon request.

Under 5’s: ~ 1 full time space Monday - Friday
1 part time space Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Over 5’s:~ I look after children who attend Oughton Nursery & Primary
Before and after school and School Holidays care is also available.
Normal working hours 8am to 6pm but i am flexible to suit parents needs as I'm very much a morning person therefore earlier starts are not a problem.

My Fees

Payment can be made by childcare vouchers (I am currently registered under Edenred, Computershare and Accore), I am happy to join any voucher scheme upon request, BACS, cheque or in cash.

Helen currently cares for my 4 yr old son and has done so for the past year. Helen looks after him four days a week and will continue to do so when he starts school in September. I was put in touch with Helen by recommendation and feel very lucky to have found her. My son takes some time to settle in to new environments but Helen managed him beautifully, she had him giggling within minutes!. Helen is very experienced and takes it all in her stride. She provides a very caring, safe environment and she works brilliantly with parents to be flexible and meet everyone's individual needs, reducing my stress around childcare worries considerably!. Helen's house is always full of fun and my son loves the many walks/park trips and outdoor activities they do together. He also comes home with lots of fun craft work, cooking & all sorts that has kept him busy. He is happy and settled so we couldn't ask for more.

Helen has looked after our little girl for a year now. When I was looking for a childminder, I interviewed 3 different ones before I found Helen. The reason I chose her was because it's more than just a job to her, Helen really cares about children and genuinely enjoys their company. This love and care was precisely the environment I was looking for, leaving my one year old with her, there were never any tears and she settled very quickly. Over the year, my daughter has thrived. She's quite a shy little one, but after a day with Helen she's overflowing with confidence and happy smiles. Our daughter is moving on to nursery now, but if I have anymore children, Helen will be the first person I turn to for her excellent childminding.

For over 2 years, Helen looked after our little girl and she really became part of Helens family. Sadly, we had to move away, but our daughter still talks about Helen often and we all really miss her. Helen is really active with the children she looks after. She attends a number of groups with the children that provide all the benefits of nursery but with the advantage of the child being with their key person at all times. She also keeps the children entertained and interested by structuring activities around interesting events – from Chinese New Year to Christmas. Helen keeps all the children very well behaved without ever raising her voice or even making the children realising they are being made to behave well. The feedback you get about what the children have been up to during their time in her care is incredible. We have an fantastically detailed folder with lovely photos which we really treasure. It doesn’t compare to the day a week she spent at the local ‘outstanding’ ofsted nursery where the feedback was impersonal and much less detailed. Next to everything Helen did for the children, she was really flexible and helpful on those days that work called for a late start or an early finish – something the nursery just couldn’t provide. We cannot recommend Helen enough and wish we still lived close enough for her to look after our children.

Helen is a loving, caring person who provides a home from home environment for all the children she cares for.
She is extremely flexible and if she can help, she will help.
