My Summary

My Experience

A little bit of information about me.
For over 9 years I have worked in a variety of different nurseries. Over the years I have felt very restricted in what I can and can not do due to policies. I believe children should have a great understand of their world and I will encourage this by going on regular outings and doing day to day activities whilst in my care.

At Kim Cubs I have a duty to ensure I have a variety of different activates to engaged children and making learning fun for them. I aim to create a fun, caring, welcoming environment for all my children to feel safe and happy. I offer the children to feel a home from home experience from my own home. I will work along side parents/carers and birth to 5 curriculum to ensure children are reaching their full potentially in my setting.

In my home there is a variety of different room that children will be using on a regular basis these room are;

Porch Area- This is where children have independence by having their pegs at their own level for children to be able to (if old enough ) to take their coats on and off. There name tags will be beside their pegs for children to be able to recognise their own face and maybe start to recognise letters in their own name.

Front Room- I have a allocated reading area for the children to be able to sit on a little sofa designed for children and pick up a book from the reading area through out the day. As well as activates going on through the room including role play out at all time, educational toys and musical instruments.

Dining room - This is were most of the art activities will take place rather on the art easel or at the table.

Kitchen - With the supervision of me Children will help take part in cutting up meals with safety equipment designed for children. Helping to create meals and if they want to do so help to wash up.

Garden- In the garden there is a climbing frame suitable for children 1 and over to explore as well as a space for children to run around and a little table and chairs for the children to do quiet activities on. There will also be a tough tray or sand and water tray for children to explore as well. In the summer depending on the uv level there is also a awning to go over for shade for the children.

Sleep Room - This is allocated for children that have naps through the day there is a number of bed options for children to use and bedding will be changed after every use. As well as me doing 10 minute checks there is also baby monitor in there if they create any sound the baby monitor will alert me and I will immediately go up and check on them.

Downstair toilet - In my down stairs toilet there toilet book for children to look at as well as a potty and steps for the children to assess the toilet.

I also offer before school and after school sessions for children attending Westlands Primary School. At Kim Cubs I will cater for all children need whilst in my care.

My Qualifications

I have completed and passed the 'Preparing to work home based childcare'. As well as having Cache Level 3 and Level 2 qualification in childcare. I have a Paediatric first aid course which is renewed every 3 years as well as having a rolling dbs as well. I have a level 2 in Food Safety and hygiene that is renewed every year. I have been on safeguarding course whilst in my previous job as well as updating my knowledge every 2 years by going on courses. I have completed a medical and police check.

My fiancée is also qualified in 'Preparing to work home based childcare' as well as having a rolling dbs, qualified in Paediatric First aid and Food Safety and Hygiene course.

My Availability

I work 5 days a week Monday to Friday. My opening hours are 7.15 am to 5.30pm however if you do need me before them out of these hours I am happy to discuss these needs with parents with notice.

My Fees

• Childminding from £6.50 per hour
