About Me

I am a mature, positive and caring person who loves making a difference in the lives of young people. I have lots of SEN and ASD experience. I am someone who always strives to be patient and supportive towards others. I posses excellent communication skills, and I have the ability and experience to relate to a wide range of people. I enjoy having the opportunity to development my understanding of the world around me, I  work in a positive manner and have the ability to remain good-humoured and unflappable under pressure, I work well as part of a team or independently.

My Experience

Nanny/Mothers help
March 2017-present

As Nanny I have sole and shared care of 3 wonderful children aged between 2 and 9yrs. I work as sole carer as well as at times supporting Mum in the day to day care and entertainment of her growing family, I prepare nutritious meals for the children and plan and support their educational needs.

House keeper
March 2014-2020

Due to taking a career break whilst my Children finished their education, I have spent the last 5 years as a house keeper for a gentleman in Scaynes hill.

Teaching assistant
January 2008 - December 2013
Young Epilepsy - Lingfield, Surrey

I joined Young Epilepsy to gain knowledge and understanding of special needs, during my time there I worked with varying abilities and age ranges (9-18) from those with PMLD (Profound multiple learning difficulties) to SLD (severe learning difficulties).
Whilst here I gained my Supporting teachers in learning Qualification, which gave me the theoretical knowledge and understanding to give greater support to the students in my care.
Due to the nature of the students we worked with, the school creates very close working teams with the need to support your colleagues being an essential part of working practice, as there maybe occasions when called to assist with students, with whom you do not work with on a regular basis.
The work was interesting and rewarding, with the students being both challenging and inspirational.

Supervisor
July 2000 - December 2008
Horsted Keynes Pre School - Horsted Keynes, West Sussex

As Supervisor at Horsted Keynes Pre-School I over saw the day to day running of each session.
Created the planning through observation, using a child centered approach.
Supported the staff to create a warm and friendly atmosphere conducive to supporting young children in education.
We as a Pre-School believed in the basic building blocks of learning, focusing on socialisation, development of gross motor skills and learning through play, following the ELGs set out in the EYFS Development matters document.
