About Me
*now taking enquiries for families looking for a place 3 days a week Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays starting in September 2025*
We are a childminding setting in Barton hill offering full days 8:30-5:30pm Monday-Thursdays. We have a place starting in September.
Anna is a registered childminder and works with her partner Ali as a full time assistant and her my mum Sarah (also a registered childminder and qualified teacher) as an adhoc assistant. We are able to have low ratios of 2 or 3 adults to 5 children allowing us and the children the space and focus to follow a child centred and respectful approach to play and learning.
Our approach is gentle, respectful and empowering. We focus on building a safe and comfortable emotional environment for the children in our care so that they can feel confident to explore, learn and play in the world around them. They can build secure attachments with us as we become part of your village. We use elements of Montessori, Reggio Emilia and forest school as well as the EYFS to inspire our work and adapt specifically to each child that joins our setting. Our favourite place to be with children is out in nature, the woods, local parks and gardens. I find that this provides opportunity for every type of play to occur.
We pride ourselves on being queer and neurodivergent affirming. Meaning that in all we do we work in a way that is built for these groups not just adding them on at the end. We use our own life experiences and professional training to support this. We are also always working to make our setting more inclusive for all marginalised people. This ranges from being sensitive about the needs of the individuals and families we work with, to providing diverse range of toys and books that represent many different groups, to focusing on bodily autonomy and consent with the children and babies of all ages.
We see our setting as combining the love and care of a home with the skills and resources of a nursery.
My Experience
Anna has worked in early years for the last 7 years and with older children for over 10 years before that.
Alice has 4 years experience working in schools and has made the moved to early years 2 years ago.
Sarah has over 40 years experience working in schools, social work and youth work and has an advanced diploma in SEND.
We all have valid Paediatric first aid, safeguarding training, Ofsted registration and DBS checks.
Anna's past experience:
I have worked as a sole charge nanny for 2 and half years for a number of different families with children aged 5 months to 7 years. In the 2 years previous to this I worked in early years settings as an acting key practitioner for under 2s and a support practitioner for 2-5 year olds. I have also got experience working with autistic children and young people with high support needs age 2-19 years, as well as experience with developmental delay and global delay in young children. I have worked as a camp counsellor for children age 6- 12; this involved looking after and planning activities for these children for 2 months at a time in a residential setting. More recently I worked as a play worker for Islington Play Association in their adventure playgrounds with children age 6-16.
I am experienced in building secure, loving and respectful relationships with young children and their families.
I can provide excellent references upon request

Over the last 23 months we have found Anna and Alice's childminding setting to be absolutely brilliant, for our child and us as a family.
Anna and Alice always provide a varied range of educational experiences, activities and play for the children, all within a regular weekly routine. They have deep knowledge of each child's interests and tailor activities accordingly.
They take safety very seriously and I feel really confident leaving my child in their care, knowing he'll be safe and very well looked after.
Communication and policies are always really clear and well managed and we really appreciate the daily updates on what they have been doing that day.

Anna looked after our 5/6 month old every week and was wonderful with him. She was intuitive and inventive, taking him to exciting places as well as making up sensory play experiences at home when it was too rainy to go out. She’s creative, focussed, and very good at what she does. She was also sensitive and wonderful with me also as a first time Mum leaving my son with a nanny for the first time and spending time giving me lots of advice and tips.

Anna has been a part-time nanny for our little boy for the last 8 months. She is amazing with him and they have developed such a strong bond even though he was quite shy and reticent to begin with. Being with Anna has been brilliant for his personal development and confidence, it's been so much more than just childcare. We couldn't be happier and are looking forward to transitioning to child minding with Anna in the new year.

Anna has been a wonderful nanny to our 1-year-old. He adores Anna and is excited whenever she comes. She’s creative, kind, and confident. We particularly appreciate how Anna brings new ideas for play activities to inspire his curiosity. Also how knowledgeable Anna is about different models of childcare. We’ve learned a lot from her. And are grateful for how flexible she’s been with our changing schedules. We highly recommend Anna.

Anna has been our (now) 2.5yo son's nanny for a year and we feel so lucky to have found her! Her informed, child-centred approach is perfect and our son adores her. She is knowledgeable, caring and fun, and has really enriched our lives. From the start, our son really settled with her and we felt completely comfortable with everything. She brings her all to her vocation, and we would not hesitate to recommend her.

Anna was a nanny for our three children ( ages 1, 4 and 6) from September 2020 to August 2021 for four days a week. She looked after our youngest daughter all day and picked up our two boys from school each day and looked after them until late afternoon.
Anna formed strong relationships with all our children quickly, and they all enjoyed spending time with her. Anna was imaginative, fun and came up with lots of activities to keep the children entertained. She kept us well informed about the children and planned with us how to continue their development. We were very sad to see Anna leave London, and would highly recommend her to other families.

Anna looked after my daughters from when they were 4.5 and 10 months. Eden (10 months) warmed to Anna really quickly, in fact we all did! She is very warm, confident and her passion for childcare, and knowledge, comes across immediately. Anna helped us through some tricky spots during the pandemic, always with a smile, and we'll always be grateful for that! Group activities weren't really on during the time Anna looked after Eden, but instead Anna came prepared everyday with new activities for inside the house, in the garden, or in local outdoor spaces. We have many photos of Eden having a brilliant time! Anna knows of so many fun things to do, such as messy play with food-colouring-added yoghurts and building a tent in the garden for singing. Whilst we were home-working upstairs, we'd often hear Eden laughing loudly and learning to sing, and that brought us a lot of happiness.
Anna was also really great with my older daughter, who can be quite shy. Anna seems to know what each age group of child would enjoy, and Dilara bonded with Anna over particular books and outdoor sporty things. We still see Anna in the neighbourhood, as she is currently a Nanny for a family closeby (from when nursery opened for Eden and Dilara started school), and my daughters will both run up to her with open arms. I would happily trust Anna with the kids for babysitting or any other help we needed, and know that they'd probably have more fun with her than with us :).
