About Me

Hi! We are looking for a part time nanny for our family. We are Alex, Oda, 3 year old Felix and baby Elowen who arrived at the end of May.

Alex is a designer who works from home, and Oda is an artist and stay at home mama.

Felix is a sweet and hilarious little wildling who enjoys being outdoors, moving his body, sensory play and pretending that all kinds of things (including himself) are robots and spaceships. He’s a bit of a threenager at times, but we find that gentle, clear communication of boundaries and emotion-coaching, as well as keeping him well fed and hydrated, deffo helps! I’m really keen to create more opportunities for small world play for him, since he’s starting to play more deeply and independently whilst creating little imaginative scenarios with animals, cars and figures.

Elowen is a gentle soul who is becoming more and more curious about her environment. She gets this wide-eyed, serious look whilst staring at various things (black and white images for sure!) that just makes me really fascinated about what must be going on in her little brain. Her gleeful smiles are enough to melt your heart over and over. She also likes to shout HEY! to get your attention, loud enough to be heard through a thick stone wall by our current neighbours, so she has definitely found her voice already!

We are moving to back Falmouth / Budock Water, after living in Devon for a number of years, at the end of July, in order to be closer to Oda’s parents.

As Alex goes back to work, I (Oda) am a little nervous about handling two little ones on my own. Living far away from both sets of parents during the pandemic meant we had very little help, and it highlighted just how important it is to not do this crazy parenting thing on your own! So here we are, asking for help :)

We need someone to come into our home a couple times a week (for the morning or afternoon) and lend a helping hand - play with Felix, hold Elowen, help out with housework, maybe cook a meal, come with us to the beach, take the kiddos out for a woodland walk, that kinda thing. Hopefully this can build to being able to babysit in the evening every now and then.

Some experience and skill with childcare is great but not essential. What is important to us though is an enthusiasm for child-led play and learning, an understanding of gentle, respectful communication and a willingness to learn to support our particular family to thrive :)
