About Me
I am a passionate and dedicated primary school teacher, with 20 years of experience. I love working with children and am devoted to nurturing their social and emotional well-being. As a seasoned traveller, I have taught children from a spectrum of cultural and economic backgrounds; from orphans in Romania, to privileged international school students in Dubai. In addition to my academic teaching history, I am also a children's yoga specialist. I advocate yoga in education as it provides children with tools for self-regulation. Coupled with a creative approach, I facilitate interactive, child-centred learning to help overcome barriers to education. In addition to whole class teaching, I have implemented interventions for groups of children with additional learning needs. I have an excellent rapport with both children and their parents, which is fostered through a diplomatic, supportive attitude.
My Experience
I have taught at both mainstream and preparatory schools in the UK and overseas for the past 20 years. I specialise in teaching EYFS, KS1 and Lower KS2. For the last 2 years I have taught at schools for children with complex needs, including autism. I am trained in Makaton and in using various other communication aids. In addition to school based experience, I have tutored a number of children throughout my career. I particularly enjoy supporting children with additional learning needs.
