I have been teaching children their basic life skills since I left school myself, starting as a nursery apprentice and working up to deputy manager. I enjoy childcare because it’s such a rewarding line of work to be in, especially when you’re helping the children to reach important milestones!

My Experience
I have 10 years of experience working within nurseries, specifically with ages 0-5. I was previously employed as a deputy manager of a busy nursery in Hornchurch where I supported a team of 10 practitioners. My usual day would consist of planning exciting activities to help stimulate and promote the children’s learning for a variety of ages, supporting children with SEN, completing termly assessments, carrying out 2 year checks with the local health visitor, changing nappies, story telling, engaging in role play, potty training, making bottles, leading baby yoga sessions and overall ensuring the children’s safety and well-being needs are being met.I have extensive knowledge of the EYFS, advanced level 3 safeguarding training, SEN training and pediatric first aid training. I also know makaton which is a form of British Sign Language, simplified for children of all ages.
I also have experience working as a baby sitter for the families of the children I have cared for in my previous nurseries, friends and members of my family. I am able to carry out light housework tasks such as laundry and cooking if necessary. I am not Ofsted registered but happy to apply for it.
