My Experience
I have had the pleasure of being an early years educator at Learn and Play Tiney Home Nursery for the past four years. I embarked on this journey during the pandemic, a challenging time for many, but one that helped me grow as an educator and adapt to changing circumstances with resilience and creativity. Over these years, I have had the privilege of caring for and educating more than 15 children, from newborns to 10-year-olds, each with their own unique personalities, needs, and potential.
I am deeply passionate about early childhood development and believe that children learn best when they are fully engaged in play. My teaching style is grounded in the Froebelian approach, which emphasizes the importance of play and the holistic development of the child. This approach aligns perfectly with my philosophy that learning should always start from the child’s perspective, focusing on what they already know and can do. I believe that every child is full of potential, and it is my role to guide and nurture that potential by creating a rich, stimulating, and supportive learning environment.
By observing children closely, I can gain a deep understanding of their current developmental stage, interests, and abilities. This allows me to create individualized learning experiences that cater to their specific needs, ensuring that they feel confident and motivated to learn. Rather than focusing solely on what children are learning, I pay close attention to how they are learning. I am particularly interested in the process of learning and how children explore, experiment, and discover new things. This focus on how children learn helps me foster a strong sense of curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving in the children I care for.
I believe in the power of play to inspire and engage children. Through play, children can explore their surroundings, express themselves, and make sense of the world around them. Play is not only fun, but it is also a crucial aspect of their cognitive, social, and emotional development. I incorporate a variety of play-based activities in my teaching, from imaginative play to hands-on exploration, to support children’s natural curiosity and to encourage them to think critically, ask questions, and develop a love for learning.
In addition to play-based learning, I place a strong emphasis on creating a nurturing and safe environment for all the children in my care. I understand that every child is different, and I strive to meet their emotional and physical needs, ensuring that they feel secure and supported. I work closely with parents to maintain open lines of communication, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and ensuring that we work as a team to support each child’s development.
In summary, my experience as an early years educator has been both rewarding and enriching. Over the past four years, I have honed my skills in child development, observation, and creating engaging learning experiences. I am committed to fostering a love of learning through play and ensuring that every child in my care feels valued, understood, and empowered to grow to their fullest potential.

Nikki is a consummate pro and a gem to our two boys. She exhumes and handles the children with a high level of care and understanding ( I think it comes naturally as she is a mother herself). She strives to learn and share anything that could affect the children.
She has massively helped with our EHCP applications and kept excellent records for our wards which is a core component of the process. She's made our lives much better.
We will choose Nikki anytime in a heartbeat.

Ana is my First child and I was worries and anxious to leave her with a “stranger” but it was incredible how quickly my daughter settled in with Nikki. From the moment We went to view her setting my baby started exploring and felt at home.
Nikki made me feel so secure in leaving Ana there, she is well taking care. She was a great find.
I will be forever grateful to Nikki and I can’t thank her enough.
Ana learn plenty of news skills, made new friends, has fun, but what she likes more are the day outdoors.
I highly recommend Nikki
