My Experience

My name is Miriam and I am a nanny.
I have 6 years of experience in childcare and have worked with different age groups (7m to 9yrs old) here in London. I’m very experienced with toddlers and I also have baby experience (7/9months old upwards).
I’m very passionate about psychology and how the world around us can impact the behaviour and feelings of the little people in our life.
I’m a big believer of gentle parenting and my philosophies regarding my approach are being loving and supportive; using positive reinforcement and role modelling while also implementing boundaries.
To me it's important to respect children and understand what is appropriate for their development while also allowing them flexibility and collaborative problem solving in case of behavioural challenges.
Another fundamental thing for me is not only to keep them safe from danger but also meeting their needs in the best way I can and learning skills through play and having fun!
(Just as an example…I don’t believe in punishments or naughty step)

I recently have completed an access course with a university about Psychology, Social Science and Wellbeing and I’m planning to enrich my knowledge by studying again - so I’m ideally looking for a long term position of 30/35 hours a week. I can be slightly flexible depending on the job.
