My name is Vanessa, but I prefer to go by Ness. In more normal times, I am a Wig, Hair and Makeup artist for Theatre, TV and Film, most recently working on the UK Tour of Les Miserables. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has had a catastrophic impact of the arts sector and it is now imperative I find alternative work until the industry I love can hopefully return at some point next year. Having previously worked as a nursery worker and part time nanny, now seems an appropriate time to utilise those skills and do something I enjoy.
Based in Colliers Wood, I live with my fiancé (a classically trained musician) and our miniature dachshund puppy. I have always felt my creative and adventurous personality has lent itself well to working with children. Recently I have become a god mother and it is incredibly rewarding watching my god daughter learn and develop, especially when I can help with the learning and development process. I feel that my life and professional experiences mean that I can offer myself as a fun, experienced and safe set of hands that will help enrich your child’s development and hope that you might consider me a suitable candidate for your childcare needs.
My Experience
I worked for 4 years at a children’s Nursery part time, while still studying at school and continued through my gap year. I have also had previous experience working as a part time nanny to a family of two young boys aged 3 and 6, where I worked for the family for 2 years.
