About Me
We are a family of four, plus grandad and our little dog. Our son is 4 and our daughter is 18 months. As a family, we enjoy visiting museums and the library, being outdoors, and travelling.
My Requirements
We are looking for a kind and reliable after school nanny for two children.
The role is from late September onwards just after our son starts reception - we can be flexible with the start date. Initially, you will be caring just for him. From January, you will also look after our daughter who will move to a term time, school-day nursery.
We are looking for someone who can do c.3pm to 6:30pm 3 days a week minimum and potentially 4 (ideally Tues, Wed, Thurs but can be flexible for the right person) in term time. Duties include:
- picking up children from school and nursery (both in St Margaret's,15 minutes walk between them)
- playing with the children, either in the park or at home
- possibly taking the eldest to an after school activity. These will be accessible by walking/public transport so a car is not necessary if you are local
- preparing and supervising dinner
The children:
Boy 4 - very bright, funny, imaginative, and active. He is autistic, attending mainstream school, and has excellent spoken language and understanding. Autism experience is ideal, but more important is someone who is willing to learn what works for him, and can embrace his interests. He needs to be active, but also enjoys reading, Lego, roleplay, and crafts. We're happy to talk to interested candidates about his needs.
Girl 20 months - very chatty, sweet and loving, but also bold and wants to do everything her brother can. She loves outdoor play, baby dolls, pretending and singing.
The position is term time only but there could be extra hours in school holidays by mutual agreement. We are happy to offer competitive wages and 7 weeks holiday pay (pro rata) for the right nanny.
Other info:
- we have a small, very friendly dog - you wouldn't be expected to care for him but he might ask for a cuddle from you when you get in
- the children's grandfather lives with us and will be in the house while you're looking after the kids. He will very much leave you to it!
