About Me
My name is Victoria (known as Vic) and I am an Ofsted-registered childminder based in Moortown, Leeds 17. I was born and raised in North Leeds, so I know the area and all it has to offer young children, very well. I have been married to Adam for 17 years and we have a wonderful, bright, caring 7 year old daughter who absolutely loves other children, particularly babies! We live in a quiet, safe cul-de-sac close to Harrogate Road. I provide before/after school care for pupils at Immaculate Heart of Mary Primary School in addition to providing day care for children of all ages, from babies upwards.
My Experience
Having a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology, I understand how children learn, the importance of play, and the stepping stones required to ensure that every child develops to their full potential in all the areas of learning. I therefore provide a wide range of activities, tailored to the needs and interests of the individual child. Ofsted commented on my extremely extensive range of quality resources, which children find stimulating and fun. I fully appreciate the need to plan the provision, to ensure there is a good balance of child-initiated exploration and investigation, and adult-led activities.
I made the decision to become a childminder because I always wanted to work with young children, completing my high school work experience in nurseries. Following my degree in Psychology my career went in a different direction, but since having my daughter (in 2016) and hosting countless play dates for her friends, it was clear where my passion really lies. I also come from a family of teachers, with my Mum, who lives locally, having been an outstanding teacher and Headteacher, including nine years teaching Reception Class.
From my work at University, my experience as a mother, and from the thorough training I have undertaken to become an Ofsted registered childminder, I feel I have the right skills, attributes and credentials to provide an excellent level of care for your child. In my setting I will ensure that your child is nurtured, encouraged to build relationships, stimulated in all areas of development, read to and listened to, and is able to relax and have fun.
The most important person in a child’s life, their very first educator, is their parent/carer and I will ensure that I work closely with you in partnership, to make sure your child feels comfortable and secure, and home from home.
My Qualifications
I am fully insured, enhanced DBS checked, hold a current paediatric first aid certificate, BSc (Hons) Psychology and am CPD certified in the following areas amongst others; Safeguarding Children, Understanding and Working With The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), Developing Children’s Learning, Recording Children’s Development and Food Hygiene.
My Availability
I work Mon-Fri 7.45am-5.30pm.
I do not currently have any spaces available for daycare or before/after school care.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
Full day £60 (7.45am-5.30pm), half day £35 (7.45am-12.30pm or 12.45pm-5.30pm)
Or from £6 per hour including all meals and snacks (excluding nappies and formula milk )
Before/after school is £8 for morning session (including breakfast) and after school session is £16 including snack at school pickup and a proper tea with dessert)

We can't say enough positive words about our 3 years with Vic! Our son was excited to go each morning and equally excited to fill us in every day about the varied activities he had enjoyed. We received multiple photos throughout the day, alongside a written update and we always looked forward to these. Each week/month, and often day, had its own theme but there was a consistency to the lessons Vic was providing and our son developed at a far quicker rate than we believe he would have done at nursery. Vic was very open and worked alongside us at every step and we cannot recommend her enough! :)

Ben thoroughly enjoyed his 3 years with Vic and was sad to leave but we will stay in touch! As parents we have felt supported by Vic who worked with us to teach Ben and help him grow. From day one we have been kept updated on his activities with fantastic photos several times a day along with an update on what he has done which we looked forward to receiving!
Vic has consistently strived to offer an excellent environment for Ben to grow, learn and feel nurtured. We are often amazed at what he has learnt which is a credit to Vic’s hard work. We could not have asked for more and highly recommend Vic as a childminder!

We were so incredibly lucky to find Vic, with availability, for our daughter. She has been with Vic since she was 9 months - she is now 4 and getting ready to start school. We stayed with Vic rather than putting Josie in a nursery as we felt confident she was getting a better head start with Vic. She really does go above and beyond, getting the children out and about for different experiences, teaching them fundamentals (My daughter can already write her name and has good numeracy skills), and celebrating their wins. She also takes time to do charitable things with them and supports the community. Her communication and updates are top notch and she feeds the children lovely, homemade meals. There is honestly not enough I can say here. I would contact Vic and, if she has availability, DO NOT HESITATE. She is absolutely wonderful and will be sorely missed by us!!
