My Requirements

We need a self-employed nanny with a car who could do school and nursery runs for my two sons, 3 and 5 (who will be 6 and 4 in September 2024), and provide wrap-around care after school/ nursery.

Main duties will be to provide wrap-around care including pick up/ drop off at the nursery/ school during Term Time. A nanny who drives their own car, is fully insured, has a clean UK driving licence, is a careful and competent driver, and is a confident car seat installer (and de-install) is absolutely essential. You will be taking the children to their extracurricular activities outside the school/ nursery in the car as well (e.g. Scouts/ swimming/ Taekwondo etc.) Then, in between, of course, help them to get dressed, wash their hands, feed them (some light cooking involved), help them in the toilet (esp. 3 YO), providing stimulating and engaging activities so that they won't rely on TV for it (which will be discouraged while you are with them). Walks outside, gardens, parks and playgrounds/ soft plays are preferred. Then in Holiday Terms, to provide childcare at home (i.e. outside nursery and school) with much for the above duties. Around 9 - 12 hours a week at £13 p/h.

An experienced professional nanny (or someone with a career and experience in childcare) with a good understanding and practice of Gentle/ Curious Parenting approach, seeks to connect with the children first to empathise before teaching them a new way. Someone who can effectively keep children safe from everyday dangers (cars, getting lost, injuries etc.) Someone I could entrust both of my children for their sole charge would be lovely.
