Nanny Job Advert: Full-Time Nanny for Sitara & Jupiter – A Fun, Dynamic Family
Are you ready to join a lively, loving family in Bristol? We’re looking for a warm, energetic, and caring nanny to help us look after our two wonderful children, Sitara (4) and Jupiter (21 months), in a position that’s equal parts joy and responsibility.
About Us:
We’re Jonathan and Kiran, a married couple with a passion for family, food, and fun. Jonathan works remotely in the tech-for-charity sector and Kiran is busy managing communications for a leading HR tech company. Our kids are our world – Sitara, our inquisitive and bright 4-year-old, and Jupiter, a curious, giggly little guy who’s always exploring. We love to keep things playful at home, and both kids are full of energy and enthusiasm.
We’re a fun, easy-going family, and we strive to keep our home full of love, laughter, and kindness. We follow gentle parenting principles, aiming to nurture our children’s curiosity and creativity. We believe in giving them the space to grow and explore, and we love playing silly games, making up songs, and encouraging imagination.
The Role:
This full-time position is centered around Sitara and Jupiter’s care and development. Your role will primarily focus on looking after the children – playing, supporting their learning, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Working Hours & Contract:
You’ll work Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, with occasional overtime (advance notice given). Your responsibilities will include engaging both kids in activities, assisting with meal times, helping with naps, and managing their daily routines. You’ll also assist with household tasks, particularly those related to the children’s care, such as laundry, tidying, and toy management.
What We’re Looking For:
We want someone who’s energetic, caring, and a natural at connecting with children. You’ll be a key part of our team, so being proactive, communicative, and flexible is essential. You should be someone who enjoys being silly, creative, and can engage in fun, imaginative play with the kids. We’re looking for someone who values curiosity, kindness, and creativity – the core values we aim to instill in our children.
The ideal candidate should have experience working with young children, be responsible, and maintain a positive, calm attitude. A good sense of humor is a must, as well as a genuine passion for childcare. We’ll support you in your role by providing clear guidelines and expectations, but also encouraging you to take the initiative and adapt to the needs of the children.
What We’ll Provide:
We’re committed to supporting you in your role. You’ll have a dedicated space within our home to relax and recharge during breaks, and we encourage open communication if you need anything. We believe in a healthy work-life balance and will ensure you have time off when needed. Additionally, we offer competitive pay and are happy to provide paid sick leave (up to 10 days per year), as well as support with professional development if desired.
Our Home & Location:
We live in the vibrant and family-friendly area of Southville in Bristol. Our neighborhood has plenty of independent shops, cafes, and green spaces, plus excellent transport links to the city. It’s a safe and welcoming community, perfect for raising young children. You’ll be able to enjoy local playgroups, activities, and outdoor adventures with the kids, and we’re just a short walk from the city center.
Expectations and Duties:
Engage Sitara and Jupiter in playful, educational activities (e.g., storytelling, music, dance, arts and crafts).
Prepare meals, supervise meal times, and assist with feeding (we provide food guidelines).
Support the children’s routines, including nap times and bedtime.
Assist with light housekeeping, primarily related to the children’s care (e.g., laundry, tidying up toys, cleaning dishes).
Ensure the children’s safety, especially on outings, and manage transportation logistics.
Manage children’s activities outside the home, such as ballet, swimming, and playdates.
Keep us informed of any needs or concerns related to the children’s care.
Perks & Benefits:
Competitive salary with paid sick leave
Paid holidays
A family-friendly, fun environment
Support for your professional growth
A close-knit, supportive team
