About Me
I am delighted to offer support to parents of Key Stage 1 children with phonics / reading / writing and spelling.
When children start school they are introduced to a wide range of learning experiences. One of these is phonics. Phonics teaches children a range of phonemes (sounds) and graphemes (the letter/s that represents the phoneme). It allows children to be able to break down words and decode texts. Understanding phonics supports children to know which letters to use when they are writing words.
It underpins children’s early reading experiences and enable them to make good progress.
I know that building positive relationships with students matters. Children need to feel confident to make mistakes in order to progress in their learning.
As a friendly, approachable, and patient teacher, I love building positive relationships while helping students to grow and have fun during their learning journey.
I passionately believe that given the correct one-to-one tuition, children can develop strategies to get the most out of their learning.

My Experience
I am a primary teacher and currently I am a head of Year 1. I have an outstanding practice approach. I have long term experience teaching across KS1. I specialise in teaching phonics, but can also tutor other primary school subjects.
My Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status.
DBS checked. Can provide proof if required.
My Availability
I am available evenings after 5pm and on weekends. I offer home school private tutoring.
