We’re a fun, vibrant household! I’m a single mom, and while I lead our day-to-day, my son’s dad is actively involved in his life.
Our 6 year old son is a bright, wonderful boy with complex SEN needs

We always try to focus on the bright side and trust that God has everything under control.
We’re currently looking to fill several roles in our home, which may be combined or split depending on the strengths and availability of the right candidate(s). These roles include:
1. Home Education Support: Assisting with a core team of SEN tutors and therapists for my son’s home schooling
2. Wraparound Care & Housekeeping: Providing support during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. This could potentially be a live-in role.
3. Weekend SEN Support: A dedicated SEN professional to assist another caregiver for approximately 7 hours per day on weekends.
My Requirements
1. Role 1: Home Education Support:
You’ll be part of an incredible team of SEN specialists, supporting our brilliant wonderful boy with his care and education at home.
This is a varied and hands-on role, where you’ll be working closely with a Conductive Education specialist. It’s ideal for someone with childcare experience—particularly with children with additional needs—who can help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in the SEN field, learn from leading professionals, and be part of a truly rewarding journey with a very special little boy.
Key Duties
- Assist with daily routines, meal preparation, tidying, preparing lessons.
- Engage in therapeutic and educational activities tailored to the child's needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, ensuring the child's safety and well-being at all times.
- Collaborate with therapists and educators to follow through with recommended activities and programs.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties related to the child, such as laundry and room tidying after the lessons.
- Accompany the child to therapy and medical appointments as needed.
- Providing personal care
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring nature.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR.
- Flexibility in terms of working hours.
- A driving licence is preferred but not mandatory.

2. Role 2: Wraparound Care & Housekeeping:
We are looking for a kind, proactive, and dependable individual to provide wraparound care and housekeeping support in our home. This role involves helping out during early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with a focus on creating a supportive environment for our family.
Key Responsibilities:
• Help with morning and evening routines, including preparing meals and supporting my son as needed
• Housekeeping tasks such as tidying, laundry, organising, and basic cleaning
• Occasional errands or shopping support
• Weekend care, including support during outings and helping to facilitate my son’s interactions with friends and family.
Attributes:
- Experienced in working with families and children ideally with SEN i
- Organised, trustworthy, and proactive
- Flexible and adaptable to our family’s needs, this may involve stepping in if another carer is ill or on holiday
- Comfortable with a potential live-in arrangement (private room provided)
- Able to work mornings (typically 7-11am), evenings (5-8pm), and weekends
3. Role 3: Weekend SEN Support Worker
Hours: Approx. 7 hours per day, Saturdays and Sundays
We are looking for an experienced, vibrant caring, SEN professional to join our weekend support team. This role involves working alongside another caregiver to provide consistent, hands-on support for my son, ensuring his needs are met in a calm, engaging, and structured way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support my son with daily routines, transitions, and activities throughout the weekend
- Work collaboratively with another specialist to ensure consistent and responsive care
- Help manage sensory and behavioural needs
- Assist with meals, outings, and any planned weekend activities
Attributes:
• Ideally Experience working with children with SEN need
• Confident, reliable, fun and vibrant
• Comfortable working as part of a small, close-knit care team
• Available consistently on weekends (both Saturday and Sunday)
