About Me
New House Farm Childminders
My name is Kathryn and I am 41 years old. I live with my husband and our two children - our daughter is 9 years old (who is home educated) and our son is 4 years old. We have a cat, a dog, a tortoise and six chickens. I am a level three early years educator with nursery experience. However, after working in nursery settings for quite a few years I decided that I wanted to provide the best childcare for my little boy and started to look into childminding.
My childminders is called New House Farm Childminders as I have access to land where the children can play and pick fruit from our fruit trees (pears, apples, plums and cherries), as well as collecting eggs daily from our chickens to make delicious cakes, crumbles and pies. With having a greenhouse on site the children will get the opportunity to learn about food and plant growth by planting (and eating) strawberries, peas, tomatoes, potatoes,
rhubarb etc.
I live within walking distance to the local park, where there is a large playground and plenty of places to explore wildlife, with extensive walks for plenty of exercise. We go for regular walks to see the farm animals, to feed the ducks and to play on the park. We also walk to the shops to buy food for picnics etc.
As well as holding a level three childcare qualification (and other relevant qualifications such as paediatric first aid), I also have a fine art degree and use this knowledge and skill to create fun and meaningful learning experiences for the children in my care. I have worked in a Reggio Emilia nursery in the past, and still follow this theory of providing children with opportunities to learn and explore, and by following a child-led learning approach e.g. taking the child's learning and development to the next level by following their interests.

My Experience
Once I had gained my fine art degree I started a career in banking. However after having my daughter 9 years ago I decided to retrain as a nursery nurse (as teaching was and still is my passion) and have worked within childcare settings, with all age ranges ever since.
I have furthered my knowledge by completing courses in Autism, learning difficulties and children's mental health etc.

I will require holiday days but plenty of notice will be given as to the dates I require.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
Fees: £45 per day - 8am-5pm (excluding food, however food can be provided at an additional cost of £2.50 per day, or parents/guardians are welcome to bring their child's own packed lunches and snacks). Half days and extra hours can be arranged. Nappies, wipes, formula etc. to be provided by patents/guardians.
I can accept 15 and 30 hour funded places and am registered to accept tax free childcare (any additional hours taken over the funded allocation will be charged at £5 per hour). If term-time hours are required for funded hours, I can work three days (Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's) from 8am - 6pm to accommodate, or hours can be stretched over the holiday period.

I cannot recommend Kathryn more! She treats my family as her own. I recieve updates daily on activities and how my son is throughout.
Kathryn is situation in such a beautiful place with plenty of resources, my son is never without adventures. Its also lovely to see him socialising with Kathryn's own children and seeing those friendships develop.
It's so lovely to know my child is being cared for by such a kind person. Makes my day alot easier ☺️
