About Me

I've been a childminder for 10 years and live in central Tonbridge. I live with my partner, our four daughters, our dog, two gerbils, a tortoise, a corn snake and fish. We are very fond of living creatures.

I am a Level 3 Forest School leader and the children who attend my setting enjoy going to Forest School weekly. I love the outdoors and actively encourage the children to learn about and respect their natural environment. I also spend a lot of time with other childminders, offering the children in my setting a 'home away from home' environment with the unique bonus of full socialisation with other children and adults. We attend a private Musical Bumps session once a week, which includes the children from my setting and other children they know from other settings, promoting strong bonds of friendships and cooperation.

We visit local parks, other childminders homes, National Trust properties, local art exhibits, animal sanctuaries and any other place the children can be free to explore and learn at their own pace.

I plan weekly topics for the children but, as a strong advocate for child-led learning, these topics can be altered at a moments notice to whatever is currently engaging the children in active learning. I have studied Hygee and incorporate many of it's philosophies in my setting. I promote resilience, independence and self-confidence, while scaffolding the children's learning to prepare them for their next stage in education - primary school.
