About Me
Hi I'm Tori. I am a fully insured OFSTED registered childminder - "LITTLE POPPETS" - in Maidenbower **** I was routinely inspected in February 2023 by Ofsted.
I live with my husband and 2 children in a quiet cul-de-sac in Maidenbower. I offer a home-from-home environment in which I can support the interests of every child in my care.
We go out almost every day, whatever the weather. Our regular activities include lots of outdoor fun in the form of woodland walks, scavenger hunts, visiting the local parks and National Trust properties. We occasionally like to go on bigger adventures to Ashdown Forest or one of our beautiful Sussex the beaches. I am lucky to have very close access to Tilgate Forest almost on our doorstep and we are walking distance to the our local park and Maidenbower pond where we can explore nature and visit the ducks. We visit libraries, play centres, toddler groups and farms and other exciting places where the children learn to understand the world.
When at home we follow the interests of each child through activities such as singing, dancing, baking, arts and crafts, exploratory play and reading - always with unlimited cuddles. I offer a balanced combination of child-initiated and adult-led activities to meet the EYFS and ensure each child can successfully transition through each of the next steps in their individual development. We love to be outdoors as much as possible and often adapt activities to play, learn and explore in our large secure garden.
I am passionate about instilling healthy living practices in the foundation years and encourage children to make positive food choices, regularly involving them in the kitchen. I like to include mindfulness and calming activities in our day to allow the children time to quieten their minds and absorb the wonderful learning experiences they have been exposed to during the day.
I have a background in training Immediate Medical Care and believe that no-one is too young to learn the basic principles of First Aid.
My Experience
I primarily care for EYFS children and have had the joy of nurturing their development and watching each child blossom allowing the children to challenge themselves, test their abilities and fulfil their full potential. I provide opportunities for children to think critically, allowing them space, time and guidance to problem solve successfully rather than simply doing everything for them. As a result, the children I care for are able to become confident individuals and develop independence in preparation for their next stages.
I have volunteered in the local school with children aged 4-7.
I also used a childminder for my own children when they were younger so this experience means I know exactly how it feels to be in the position of a parent looking for the best care for your family. As such I aim to forming working partnerships with parents so that we are cohesive in our approach to raising your precious little poppets.

DBS check
Full clean UK Driving license
I also complete regular CPD training to ensure I have broad knowledge in meeting the needs of every child in my care.

I can offer a flexible contract for shift workers and out of hours care subject to requirements and my availability.
My core hours are Monday - Thursday from 9:00 until 14:30 with Funded FE placements available during each day.

I offer privately paid sessions or funded sessions Monday - Thursday inclusive of lunch, snacks and general daily trips.
