About Me
My name is Lorraine Reid and I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in Thornes, Wakefield. I have EYPS (Early Years Professional Status) and hold a Degree - BA in Early Years. I have 30 years experience of working with children in a variety of settings including childminding for 15 years, managing a private daycare nursery for 12 years and in nursery and reception in 2 schools in Wakefield for 3 years. I returned to my childminding career in September 2021.
I am passionate about working with children and genuinely enjoy sharing my time with them. I plan interesting and purposeful play and learning experiences with clear links to the EYFS. I record children's learning in their personal learning journeys and plan for each child's next steps for learning.
I plan regular outings and visits to local places of interest. I have two separate play rooms , a very large enclosed garden space and a large family room. I consider myself to have a very wide range of resources covering all areas of learning and development from birth to eight years.
