About Me
My name is Shana and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live a short walk away from St Mary Cray Station with my husband and 3 year old daughter.
I provide a warm home from home setting in our semi-detached house, which has a garden and a drive for easy drop off and pick up access.
My professional background is in primary education, so I have a desire to create an environment where children feel safe and are engaged to explore their curiosity through imaginative play. I am passionate about the development of children and believe they will thrive best when they are happy. My setting consists of a range of activities located indoors and in the garden to keep children engaged such as sensory play including the water wall; messy play; tuff tray activities; role play; small world toys; music and singing; arts and crafts; puzzles; story time and much more.
Outdoor activities include visiting a range of playgroups, libraries and parks. Special outdoor visits include soft play, farm, beach; children's role play centre; the discovery centre and more.
I have up to date training and certification with DBS, paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene.
My Experience
I am a qualified primary school teacher of 5 years. I have 9 years of experience working with a range of children of all ages with different needs. Being a mother has helped me to truly understand the nurturing care required for younger children and babies.

Shana was a very warm and kind childminder for our 4-year old daughter. Shana was able to take her on short notice when our usual nursery had to close due to an emergency, and our daughter spent a lovely day at hers. She shared pictures during the day, and our daughter liked the food too. Highly recommended!

Shana is a refreshing, genuine true care giver. She is prompt, reliable, respectful and knowledgeable. Her career history and personal intuition shines through. Shana has cared for our 3 girls (3 under 5's) many times as a regular nanny/babysitter. The girls have grown with Shana and have a special bond with her and her family and look forward to spending time. Shana covers all aspects of childcare including a good focus on learning and development. Shana has been a great help and support to our family and she is our 1st choice for additional hands on deck to help out with the girls. Highly recommended!!!

Shana has been flexible and amazing when I have needed someone to childmind for my daughter. Shana is welcoming and is calm and patient with my daughter. She always greets me with smiles so I know she enjoys herself and is safe and happy. I highly recommend this provider! I have peace of mind knowing my daughter is in good hands.
