Welcome to Charlene's Childminding.
Charlene's Childminding is located in Tottenham, N17 and registered by an ofsted-registered childminding agency. (Please note - we are Term-time Only).
Charlene's Childminding provides a cosy, nurturing, and safe home nursery environment for children aged 1 to 4 years old.
In our home, we have converted part of our living room solely into a spacious enabling learning environment. A dedicated playroom and spacious garden where children partake in child-led or group activities. Both spaces are well equipped to provide a safe and stimulating environment that encourages each child to grow into a confident, independent, and sociable young person.
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and inspired by different educational approaches such as: Montessori and the Curiosity Approach.
Our curriculum also covers emerging interests of both indoor and outdoor learning environments and the experience.
As an early years provider (myself and my mother, who are both registered childminder and childminding assistant), comply with the staff:child ratio which allows for a homely and one to one approach to child’s care and development.
At Charlene's Childminding, we provide a safe and happy environment for children to thrive and develop at their own pace.
We also offer parent partnerships to achieve a collaborative approach to every child's care that involves working together to support the child's learning and development.
My Experience
Background
Charlene:
I have over 10 years of experience working with children, young adults, and the elderly. I am a caring and nurturing individual with a very passionate interest in childcare and development and health & social care.
I have worked various settings, from being a nursery assistant to a school meal supervisory assistant to a classroom assistant. I also gained extensive experience in children care homes and primary schools in Tottenham. With the immense experience and first-hand knowledge I gained over the years, this prompted me to pursue a career in home-based childcare; a profession in childminding where I believe I can offer the best level of care and support for children.
I have studied health and social care at the University of Bedfordshire and also have certificates in childcare, child education, outdoor play, child neglect awareness and autism awareness, and many more.
Lorna:
I am a retired nurse with thirty years plus years experience and immense education built in working from various hospitals. I have also gained extensive experience volunteering and working in local primary schools. With the experience I gained over the years, it prompted me to pursue a career in childminding and working together with my daughter in providing home-based childcare.
We are DBS checked and have paediatric first aid training, safeguarding, and food hygiene certification.
