About Me

I am an active, engaging, and oragnised individual with over six years of childcare experience looking for part-time childcare employment between September '24 to February '25 before I go travelling.

My experience includes: several voluntary positions, part-time nannying alongside my full-time univeristy studies (through an agency), a temporary international placement for a high net-worth family, and occasional babysitting. I am proud to say that the majority of my jobs have been gained through word of mouth recommendations.

My Experience

From October 2018 to February 2020, I volunteered with a charity called Me2. Me2 is an organisation that enables children and young people with additional needs and disabilities, aged 5-19, in the Wokingham and Reading Boroughs to attend mainstream activities. I completed extensive and specialised training for this role, which enabled me to learn about childcare and, more specifically, childcare for those with additional needs. I worked 1-to-1 with a young boy where we attended his chosen activity together for an hour every week.

Since starting university (properly in 2021), I have lived in Zone 2 of London and I love everything London has to offer - especially the museums! To afford a (somewhat) comfortable lifestyle in the city I have been baby-sitting and nannying for a plethora of families. In 2021 I started my first nannying job through a popular London nannying agency. This was something I did part-time along my full-time studies for two academic years (12h per week). I completed intensive training provided by the agency, including paediatric first aid training. I provided reliable and responsible daily childcare and assistance to two families (girls aged 4 to 9) – one position lasting 15 months, and the other 6 months. Duties included: school pick up (using TFL), taking children to clubs and activities, assisting with homework, reading, preparing dinner, imaginative play (minimal to no screentime, unless for educational purposes e.g. PowerPoints for playing schools/music for dancing), bath-time, bedtime. During school holidays, I would work full time and would plan activities and days out around London.

In 2022 I undertook a temporary abroad placement in Milan for three weeks with a high net worth family (girl aged 6). I worked for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. My duties included: imaginative play, exploring the city, bath-time, bedtime In 2023 alone, I have babysat over 13 different children - all of which were gained through word-of-mouth/recommendation.

I decided to pause for a few months so I could focus on my masters, but I continue to do occasional shifts - both during the day and evening.

My Qualifications

For my volunteering position, I undertook SEN (special educational needs) training. Under the aforementioned agency, I also covered paediatric first aid training.

I am insured as both a nanny and babysitter under Morton Michel - a specialist provider of childcare
insurance

Academics have always been a priority for me. I achieved grades ranging from A* to B in all my GCSE and A-Level examinations. I moved to central London for university and last year I completed my undergraduate degree at King's College London where I read Classical Studies and achieved a strong First Class Honours. I am currently undertaking my Master's in Law at BPP, which I am due to finish this September, and I hope to train as a family law solicitor in the near future; however, I am keeping my options open!

My Availability

I am open to both weekday and weekend jobs, preferably on the Metropolitan line (furthest, St John’s Wood) or close to Ruislip, Northwood, Rickmansworth, and Uxbridge. I am restricted to these locations as I have not got my driver's license yet, I am still learning and will therefore need to take public transport from Harefield.
