My Summary

My Experience

I have extensive childcare experience as a babysitter, nanny, and play worker at an after school club. I thoroughly enjoy childcare and have enough experience to understand the responsibility that comes with it- both to the child and their carers. I have experience working with children with learning disabilities and children who are neurodivergent, including those with ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. I believe in creating and maintaining a compassionate and fun environment as a childcare provider and am committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of those in my care. I have experience working with children aged from 3 months old to 18 years.

I have worked with children since I was 16, starting out with babysitting and then working as a play worker for the after school club at Hinchley Wood Primary School. I worked at the primary school until covid resulted in the school's closing, and over the lockdown period I worked as a cleaner for a few months and as occasionally as a babysitter for a family based in Surrey. During my time at university, I worked part-time as a nanny for a family based in Nottingham for just under two years until I graduated in July 2023. I have done ad-hoc babysitting and childcare for many different families both in Nottingham and Surrey/London during my time at university and before.

I have experience helping children and young people with their studies and schoolwork. Part of my responsibilities as a childcare provider was to help the children with homework and other extracurricular activities (eg, piano practice, swimming, creative writing.) I have experience as a tutor for the GCSE English Language and Literature courses, and from August 2023 to June 2024, I volunteered at IntoUniversity as an academic mentor, helping secondary school aged children with homework and practice tests for upcoming exams ranging across all GSCE and A Level subjects.

After graduating in July 2023, I went to work as a sabbatical officer at my former university's students union for a year, and have recently left this role to start another job working for Framework supporting unaccompanied asylum seekers.

My Qualifications

I have an enhanced DBS check updated on the 11th of July 2024, and am Mental Health First Aid trained. I have recently completed my Level 2 qualification (equivalent to a GCSE) in counselling skills. I have a BA in English from the University of Nottingham where I graduated with a 2:1.

My Availability

Between now and the 5th of August, my availability is wide open, and I welcome any short-term or ad-hoc based enquiries between now and then :)

My Fees

• Babysitting from £11.00 per hour

For daytime and babysitting work when the children are awake, I ask for just under minimum wage for my age, which is £11.44. My night rate would be half this. My fees are negotiable and flexible, so please do enquire if you have questions :)
