About Me
I have always loved children and the wonderful bonds you build with them. Growing up, I regularly babysat for family and friends, and I worked as a nanny for 1.5 years, caring for two lovely girls aged 6 and 8. I now have a 7-year-old stepdaughter, which has deepened my experience and passion for childcare even more!
I particularly enjoy working with children aged 3-12 and love encouraging creative play and outdoor adventures to reduce screen time. I believe in kindness and patience while maintaining clear, consistent boundaries to support independence. I always stick to my word so children know where they stand, and I use distraction techniques or gentle guidance to help them manage big emotions.
As a creative person with a love for art and cooking from scratch, I enjoy involving children in fun, hands-on activities that inspire imagination and teach life skills.
In addition to nannying, I do some freelance marketing, but my main focus is finding a rewarding role where I can truly make a difference.
I’m currently beginning my Level 2 Childcare qualification and am looking for full-time or part-time nanny positions, with occasional babysitting. I’m more than happy to help with light housekeeping, cooking, and pet care, and I’m available on weekdays.
My Experience
From March 2019, I worked as a part-time nanny for a local GP in Folkestone, Kent, caring for her two primary school-aged children (then 6 & 8). Initially, I worked after school, but as I grew closer to the girls, I was asked to take on more hours—sometimes working up to 12-hour days during holidays. My responsibilities included planning daily activities, assisting with morning and evening routines, and handling tasks such as cooking, laundry, tidying, and dishwasher duties. This role was incredibly rewarding and helped me develop strong communication and organisation skills while providing a stimulating and varied environment for two inquisitive, energetic children.
Before this, I was a regular babysitter for many local mums in Folkestone, often babysitting most weekends from the age of 13/14.
I am now a stepmum to a wonderful 7-year-old, which has further deepened my love for childcare. I’m always coming up with creative activities, encouraging minimal screen time in favour of outdoor adventures and imaginative play. I also love getting her involved in everyday tasks like cooking family meals, which she enjoys, and I’ve found this helps build confidence and independence while strengthening our bond.
