My Summary
About Me
Hello parents! My name is Sakara and I am a Biological Sciences student and a Nursing Assistant at Southmead Hospital. I am currently on summer break, and I work on a 0-hour contract at the hospital, so I work as and when.
I am an Artist, Writer, yogi, all-round creative, and love the outdoors! I've lived, travelled, and worked in 31 countries, however now I'm rooted at home in Bristol.
I'm looking for some childminding/nannying/babysitting for the summer, and potentially when I go back to university as I will still need to work. I have a full clean drivers license, can cook meals, take children to school, assist with homework, take the children out for weekend day trips, and clean the house alongside my childcare duties. I am very flexible with hours, I can do early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and sleeping nights.
I hope I can help you! Please get in touch and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you,
Sakara
My Experience
I used to teach and travel the world working in private Montessori schools, public schools, community centers, language immersion camps, and on the streets of bustling slums. I have 9 years experience working with and caring for children and young people, and 2 years experience working with children and young people with autism and learning disabilities.
I was a live-in Au Pair in Australia where I cared for, taught, and explored with a fabulous two year old.
Two years ago I got back from living in southern Thailand where I was a kindergarten teacher to 40 local children, teaching them English, Art, Maths, and Science.
I used to offer 1-1 English tuition to children after school while living in Madrid, and also taught adults.
In Bosnia, I ran Art workshops to the local children in the north, English lessons to the older children, and was project coordinator for Wednesday's 'fun days' and summer camps.
In North Mumbai, India I volunteered for a charity called Arts to Orphans where we gathered the local street children and taught them English, Art, Maths, singing, dancing, and Martial Arts.
My Qualifications
First aid trained, 9 years experience teaching and supporting child with/without learning disabilities and autism. Degree in Fine Arts, currently taking a second degree in Biology.
My Availability
I do pick and choose my shifts at the hospital so I have full, open flexibility. I can plan my work at the hospital around childcare needs.
