About Me
Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a qualified teacher. I currently work as a full time teacher in a primary school in South East London and have experience in both Key Stage 1 and 2. I also have experience of working with younger children in a Montessori Nursery school. I love spending time with children and young people of all ages and have many interests and hobbies. I play the violin and the piano which led to me studying music at university. I love art and enjoy going to museums and galleries. I also enjoy being out in nature, exploring the woods, gardening and finding creepy crawlies.
My Experience
I am a qualified teacher and an experienced tutor. I have lots of experience teaching across EYFS to Year 6 in schools, with a specialism in Reception to Year 2. I always strive to make learning fun and engaging by adapting learning to the children's interests and making it achievable, whilst enabling progress for every child. I particularly enjoy teaching early reading and writing, including phonics and sentence structure and all areas of mathematics, such as the four operations, place value and measurement.
I have babysat for various families for the past 20 years, working with children from the ages of 6 months to 11 years old. I have undertaken basic first aid training as part of my teaching roles and have experience of working with children who have special educational needs. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an arts educator at the Victoria and Albert museum and for various London based orchestras.
