About Me
Hi, I’m Shannon (Muddyfootprintschildminding).
I’m a mum of four, and our home is a warm, family-centred setting where minded children become part of our everyday life. My own children love joining in with play and helping everyone feel welcome.
I co-mind with my auntie, Debbie, who has over 20 years of childminding experience. Together, we offer a supportive, nurturing environment with lots of hands-on experience.
I’ve worked with children for over 10 years and have a passion for early childhood development. I’m particularly interested in Montessori values, holistic play, outdoor learning and providing open-ended resources.
Based in Wollaton, our setting includes an inviting playroom and a large garden with plenty of space to explore, dig and discover — we even have chickens!
Our days are filled with a mix of home activities and outings to local parks, playgroups, the library and lots of time outdoors.
My Experience
I have 11 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant, specialising in Early Years education before becoming a registered childminder in January 2022.
During my career I’ve supported children from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with English as an additional language and children with additional needs, giving me a good understanding of how to adapt learning and care to suit each child.
Being a mum of four has also given me hands-on experience with different age groups and stages of development, which feeds directly into the nurturing, flexible approach I offer.
I was recently graded GOOD by Ofsted, receiving lovely, positive feedback from both my inspector and my current families — which I’m incredibly proud of.
My Qualifications
Full paediatric first aid qualification
Safeguarding training
BTEC National diploma in children’s care, learning & development.
My Availability
My hours are 7:45-5:00 and I provide drop off and pick up from Middleton Primary School

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
£7 per hour before school
7:45 am drop off
£55 per day - funded hours accepted

I have recently sent my 9 month old daughter to muddy footprints & I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Both Shannon & Debbie are amazing, they have took the time to get to know my baby well & in the short time she has learnt so much! Everyday they plan a wide range of activities, groups, forest school, library etc & spend lots of time outside! Love the home from home environment.

Shannon is a wonderful childminder, she provides a warm and welcoming environment and always has a range of great activities planned. She really gets to know and understand each child. My youngest daughter has been with Shannon for 2 years and adores her, and her family. It really feels like she’s going to a second family rather than a childcare setting!

Shannon is an amazing childminder! She is so friendly and professional, creating a warm, welcoming environment that truly feels like a home away from home. She took the time to really understand my child, their needs, and what would help them settle in and feel comfortable. Her caring and thoughtful approach made all the difference, and I feel completely at ease knowing my child is in such good hands.
