About Me
We always describe ourselves as the three musketeers, so we are most certainly a team, and our little family means everything to us. All of us love the outdoors, travel, and food, especially our little girl. She is food obsessed!
Our lovely little squiggle is disabled and has a severe development delay. She is 11 years old but mentally around 2 years. She is very happy, loving, and enjoys lots of cuddles and kisses. However, because of her disabilities she can be quite a challenge. She unfortunately has no danger awareness, and she can put everything and anything into her mouth (Pica). She also can't communicate.
We are looking for a regular person (as we don't want a different sitter everytime), so our daughter (and us) can build up trust and she can understand her new routine and have a companion. We would like someone to be with her for some quiet play, read stories, help us take her to the beach, etc etc.
**We are looking for someone that can be with us for around 8 hours a week, within the school holidays only (13 weeks).**
My Requirements
- Someone who can look after our girl and make sure she remains safe.
- Special Needs Experience is essential (proof will be required).
- Either a CBS or enhanced CBS check is essential (proof will be required).
- Two references are essential.
- First aid trained is essential.
- Childcare qualifications and/or has worked with children before is essential.
- Safeguarding trained is preferred but is not essential.
- Someone who lives in Felixstowe is preferred.
- You will be employed and paid through the councils direct payments scheme.
- Pay is around £12.50 an hour.
We understand that this is quite a list for very little child sitting. However, keeping her safe is incredibly important as she is a vulnerable child. If you feel you could be the right person, even if you are still unsure, please do get in touch. We can arrange a short telephone conversation first and then arrange to meet in a public place (like a cafe). We can then have a chat over a cup of coffee!
