About Me
University of Leeds graduate (First Class Honours) and current MSc student at Newcastle University with many years experience working with children in the education, healthcare and sports sectors. Private tutor with flexible rates for 1-1 and group tutoring sessions.
I specialise in core subject tutoring, help with homework and exam preparation up to GCSE level. My approach to tutoring includes tailoring sessions to adapt to the individual, clear explanations and practice through questions, including exam papers, to ensure long term consolidation and understanding of core concepts. I can provide feedback on each session with a summary at the end to the both the tutee and parent/carer, to identify any additional learning needs or wants for long term progress. I aim to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for tutees, to enable confidence in subject discussions, asking for help and answering questions.
I have an DBS check available on request.
My Experience
Private tutor with 6.5+ years experience tutoring children between the ages 4-16. Subjects include maths, english, science and 11+. Experience includes tutoring mixed ability and aged children, including adapting to Special Educational Needs and teaching English as a second language.
My Qualifications
Previously obtained 13GCSEs, 3 A Levels, Foundation degree certificate and recently a First Class Honours BSc degree. Non academic qualifications such as Duke of Edinburgh Award, Peer Mentoring, Level 1 and 2 Sports Leaders and England Netball Coaching qualifications also achieved.
