My Summary
About Me
I am a lively, enthusiastic and empathetic person who thoroughly enjoys working with children of all ages. I am passionate about supporting parents in helping their children to achieve their maximum potential, both academically and pastorally, and help them to thrive in this globalised 21st century world.
Having supported children who live in both a boarding house and children's homes, over the past eight years, I have learned to be very organised and how to support each and every child’s individual needs and schedules; anything from making sure children attend their after school activities, supporting children with their homework to ensuring their clothes are clean and that they have everything for school the next day.
I want every child that I look after to feel comfortable around me as I believe that they should feel safe and enjoy having me as a part of their home environment.
I thoroughly enjoy learning languages, reading and doing web design and I particularly enjoy supporting children in learning about these areas. I also support children in being physically active and exploring their outdoor environment.
My Experience
I am a trained Residential Care Worker with extensive experience working with and supporting children across a variety of roles throughout my career. Starting as a qualified Teaching Assistant and Matron in a top Independent Boarding School, I have worked closely with teachers to support children with a diverse range of learning needs such as severe Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyspraxia and OCD. I have worked within a charity which supports vulnerable children before becoming a care worker to directly support vulnerable children in LD and EBD children’s homes. I am a detail-oriented person, proficient at creating schedules and behavioral care plans, whilst being friendly and approachable when building relationships and rapport with young people.
If you require a more detailed information list, please feel free to contact me and I can provide my CV.
