About Me
I'm a Psychology student at the University of Southampton. I have a particular interest in mental health, specifically in young people. I have always loved working with children and am a strong believer in learning through play. I am known to deliver safe, stimulating and fun activities such as baking and crafts. In my free time, I sing and practice art! I aspire to help children' confidence in these fields as I believe they have positive benefits in cognitive development.
I can also speak Portuguese.
My Experience
Outside of term time, I work at the Gap Club. During my role as a play-worker, I assist children in learning through play. Over the summer holidays, I looked after children from the ages of 2-11 where I gained experience in which activities are best for what age ranges. With early years, I encouraged sensory play and reading. It was a privilege to watch their independence grow over time. With the older kids, I focused on encouraging exploration outside of their comfort zone e.g. cooking, sports, and arts and crafts activities.
