About Me
We have a lovely little family, with three children; an 8 month old daughter, 3.5 year old son and a 5 year old son.
However, unfortunately our family has been challenged and has suffered quite a journey over the last 5 years with our eldest, who was born extremely prematurely at 26 weeks gestation (14 weeks early). He has various complex needs, however, we are adapting and learning as a family to overcome such difficulties. He is also at a point where he is clinically much healthier and happier than ever. Although he cannot walk unaided, he loves going to the park, playing on the swings and slides, he loves swimming, going on the the rides at Alton Towers and his downtime is spent playing on his playstation, helping him with his fine motor skills and co-ordination.
Currently our 3 year old attends a mainstream nursery 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays, 51 weeks per year). Our eldest can no longer attend the same nursery as the nursery cannot be granted any more funding for him as he is now school age. Although we have found a suitable mainstream school for him to attend, they have to go through various training prior to him starting, which will hopefully be in September.
So, we are looking for some help... we are open to exploring ideas of how someone could offer assistance to supporting our young family. Perhaps during school holidays, where I can then look to changing the 3 years olds nursery set up. Maybe, assistance during after-school and evenings and every now and then weekends or a night, would be a huge benefit to us, minimising a huge stress that is building.
We are willing to make it work for the right person to help us reach a better work-life balance.
My Requirements
Our perfect nanny MUST LOVE TODDLERS and have at least 2 years’ experience in a caring role where they were in sole charge of more than one child throughout the day. We are also looking for someone who has experience with children with additional care needs. Our 5 year old has had a very rocky start in life, he has mild cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy. However, has only suffered from 3 epileptic related seizures in his young life & is medicated for this, so they are under control.
All children have beautiful, loving characters with a great sense of humour. They are very energetic, playful and adventurous and we are very much looking forward to finding someone who will keep up with them, tune into their wants and needs and help them to develop.
Your duties:
General child-minding duties (preparing meals, mealtime, play, bath, bedtime etc) will be required along with light housework as needed.
Our Perfect Caregiver:
This position would suit a responsible mature minded person who has a genuine interest in children. We are seeking a long-term placement.
The suitable applicant must meet the following criteria:
First Aid Certification
Driver’s License
Police Check
Experience with additional care needs
If you are interested or would like more information please get in contact. We are pretty flexible and will accommodate for the right person.
Availability is below, I have ticked all possible times and we can go from there... Ideally someone 2-3 days per week would be great, with the occasional weekend evening / morning (Saturday or a Sunday). We are open to discussing the best plan, combination / schedule. Obviously term time will be different to school holidays from September 2024 onwards.
